Here is the break down on those TT models.

We got the XB12STT's in about this time last year. They didn't really sell anywhere in the country, so there they sat. I think they were a half hearted attempt at a new model just to try to get Buell back in the news. Buell must have realized this too. In October of 2007 we got a bulletin from Buell saying that they will sell each dealership with a XB12STT still in stock a kit for each bike they had. What the kit consisted of was a Lightning Long style seat, colored flyscreen and airbox cover (in only translucent colors), and complete passenger foot pegs and supports. They were supposed to remove all the white body work and seat. What the terms were if the dealership installed the kits on the bikes and then sold them, the dealership wouldn't be billed for the kits. Now is where the gray area comes in. To my knowledge, they didn't give any instructions of what to do with the left over parts. My thinking would be to include them with the purchase of the bike, but not all dealers are like that. So, be aware when you buy one of those bikes and make sure to ask them about what they did with the old parts.

So if the bike is in the white or orange does that mean the dealer should have a kit for the update parts? I am supposed to look at a white one next week but, I prefer the set up of the bike I saw in the Columbus area which was the same as you are writing about BPG. Thnks D

It was entirely up to the dealers if they wanted to get the kits to install them. I would ask them if they have one or can get one if you would be interested in having the kit on the bike.

Awesome info because that would make a difference on the purchase. I need the ability to take the wife once in a while.
