diabolical weird noise when off

Ok,
So for 2 days I keep hearing weird sounds....similar to when I turn the ignition on....in my garage. I thought it was the battery charger, but after unplugging everything and listening intensely turns out its the cr. No key in ignition, nothing plugged into it....totally off. Yet its out there cycling....I'm kinda scared! Any insight yall?

I think your right.....stator should've burned out a long time ago, yet she just keeps going. Now she's out there mocking me! I've put 12000 since November and it just keeps getting better....seriously...I bought it off this forum over thanksgiving with 12000....she's now got 24000 and is out there kinda whispering. I'll utube it so yall believe me

Probably your fuel pump. My sounds when i turn my key on, and when i turn it off.

Fuel pump. Mine does it as well. I've noticed it will do it for maybe an hour or so periodically after a good ride.

It's definitely not normal and that's why I love her....although that wreckless driving ticket Thursday night is going to temper things for a lil bit!

Mine does this as well not sure why bit I think when I had my race ecm in that helped a little.

Does this bike try to keep the fuel pressures up even after its been shut down for a little while??...

It's normal. The pump keeps the fuel rail primed to prevent vapor lock, I think it will do it for as long as 10 minutes after the bike shuts off when it's up to temp.

what kind of sound is it and where is it coming from.?? reason i ask is mine made pissed off gurgling sounds.. i could faintly hear it after fan turned off, key out, etc.. Listened very carefully and tracked it down to the gas tank vent tube down by the swingarm (xb12ss) turns out it was boiling/bubbling fuel in the tank and the sound was only coming out of the tube and if you pressed your ear against the side of the tank itself.had no liquid or vapor coming out of the tank.. tank level sensor was out and runnin little fuel in the tank can heat it much quicker with these heat demons we call out bikes.. other possible sound could be from the breathers?
