I read a lot of the posts about this but mine happens when I really get on the throttle fast and hard. The bike shuts off. Engine locks up! And I get a system voltage error. This time when i started pulling off the road I put it in neutral and the normal screen came back up and it started. Last time it didn't and the battery died. (Supposedly a new battery)
The at temp on the cluster after this happens ends up really high like in the 100's when it's 70-80 out

Is it still the rectifier? And/or relay?

The roadstercycle is the one that's on my 09 CR and it works great!

I will say though, I had to remove/drill out one of the factory studs so that I could mount the new VR - the holes don't line up. In addition, the PO had the wires for the VR facing forward towards the front of the bike, which is a mistake as there is very high potential for the wires to rub the seat latch release mechanism. (Mine caught fire...) I now have the wires facing towards the back.

I believe there are instructions on how to test it in the service manual. I'd test it first but sounds probable.

The ricks one is a direct plug in. Gonna go that route if it's bad. They have it listed for a 09 1125cr. That's the same as the 08 1125r, right?

You may be getting the "system voltage error" just because the bike shut off.
What is the voltage reading when it dies? 12.5+ volts? Then you're ok. 9-10 volts can kill the bike when you try and throttle up and you are currently (PUN!) on the right track.

Before you start trowing expensive parts at it just guessing, I would look into why the hell the bike dies when you are riding it first!

Bad ignition wiring? Bad coil wiring? (Of course the check the grounds and battery thing everyone loves to say for every problem ever)

The AT sounds right at 100* on a 70*-80* day. It's reading from inside the air box.

I will. It only has done it two times and it's when I crack the throttle hard and the revs quickly accelerate. Like in 3 or 4 gear. Doing that kills the bike

The previous owner added a du a module with a shift light. Could it be possible that it's programmed to kill it before the rev limiter? It's not like I'm holing it open at 11k Rpms and crusing like that.

A rev limiter shouldn't "kill" the bike though.
What do you mean:
This time when i started pulling off the road I put it in neutral and the normal screen came back up and it started.
The screen turned off? then back on?

It's pretty hard to get a motor to totally shut off on a high load situation like yours. Are you able to duplicate the problem every time?

Perhaps the Dyna module is losing power?

When it happens the bike turns off Screen stays on and says system voltage. The bike is like turning the bike on with the key before u start it. Only I'm going 100! I put it neutral. And while I'm coasting the screen clears up to its normal screen and I restart it. It's only when I rev the hell out of it.

You can cycle the 1125 display to show voltage like cooter said hit the toggle and it will show up.

I think all revisions of the cluster will. Early clusters did not have gear display does yours?
