I constantly have to toggle mine to the volt display...It's always been fine, but I'm paranoid.

ok....I tried it in the garage....the volts on the battery were 13.87 running....after the bike was warmed up, I revved it and the first 2 times I revved it hard past 9k it turned off...no voltage error....after the first 2 times it was fine...I didn't have the display on volts....didn't realize it could display that....Ill switch it to that when its running and report back.

It sure sounds like the 'voltage error" message is causes by the bike shutting off, and not an actual issue with the voltage regulator.

With it just idling, try and wiggle the wiring and connectors by the steering neck, and especially by the Dyna Module. I have no reason to suspect it per se, just that it's aftermarket and would cause it to die. I'm thinking it's more of a vibration problem, and would like to minimize the "re-testing phase". I can't say I recommend 9K rpm blasts in neutral (or on the street when it's expected to die[sad]

edit: wiggle the kill switch and tap the housing as well, maybe yanking on the bars is causing it to momentarily open or ground the circuit.

I'm trying to think of all the stuff that happens when you're really gassin' it

See if you can get specs on that dyna module. It may very well be your issue. It may have a rev limiter that for some reason is set to kill one of your ignition leads. Your best bet is to start with a clean slate and have the bike set up stock with no electrical add-ons. Not saying that it's not installed properly, but you have no idea what the PO did to your bike prior to you.

[up] - are all the connections tight for the battery and the associated cables? I'm sure you double checked, but I thought I'd ask.

In my opinion I would detach the add on system for now, Id also test the charging system parts per the manual just to be sure and go from there.
