I started out with 4 rusty bmx pegs, 3 feet of 1/2 inch all thread, 4 nuts, 4 locking washers, and a roll of electrical tape

I then cut all four pegs down with a grinder because they were way too long and sanded them down with a belt sander

I then wrapped the center of the all thread with black electrical tape to protect the axles on the bike

I then drilled out the holes in the pegs to fit the 1/2 inch rod and sanded them and painted them with a flat black paint

Would it be hard to trim them down? They do seem to stick WAY out.

How much did it all cost?

Not to be an ass, but if you ever it the ground those are breaking off. Way to long.

No stunting just yet and it is easy to trim them down just a few second with the grinder....which I am probably going to do this was just a test fit and xtreme it only cost me 12 bucks for the allthread and the nuts and bolts....I used the old pegs that I had laying around and some extra paint I had left from another project

If you only want them for the protection they only need be 1" at the most.

Seen here and how well they worked[smirk][up], Swing arm was perfect, not a scratch thanks to the sliders.

lol haha...levi good 1, im hoping that once i trim them up they wont even look like pegs anymore

If you look around you might even be able to find some plastic plugs that'll pop on the inside of the pegs. Obviously they'd pop put if you ever crashed, but cosmetically it would be nice while they were still intact.

maybe i will go 007 on everyone and put some retractable spikes in the pegs....damn gixxers wont see it coming

I know it's old, but I just found this post and it's great amigo. Lots of ways to go with this. Thanks for the write up!

Ask what he has on his bike now...just saying ;)

In all seriousness...If you try this, please trim them down for all the reasons mentioned above.
