I used a set of short led strips from autozone. They are well visible at night but I do not recommend them for use in heavy traffic during the day. This was a cheap temporary fix for me. More permanent fixtures should use something like this.

Led wires pulled back, tied, smashed, sealed, and wrapped onto the connectors. Had to get creative here. Wanted to retain the stock plug and play ability.

Apply signals via 3m double sided tape to the sides of the tail light housing. (If mine were clear I would have installed these inside the housing. Just keep in mind the lights need to face out!) Wires were fed under the housing through the area where the license plate light should be.

Up next is the LED board. For the brake light.

Awesome !! ... Never thought about something like that ... I know ya have good turn signal visibility from the sides now for sure ... just make sure somebody behind you can see it ...

You can see them from behind. The led's are tall enough to project behind the bike. Not enough to make me comfortable. But enough to work. I'm still using hand signals just in case. But honestly the ones from autozone are hard to see in the daylight regardless. They're just ****** led's lol. Probably will end up splurging for the radiantz and routing a signal in the brake light circuit board also.
