So what is seafoam used for? I am curious. I am trying to get my Buell look like new. I wouldn't say my bike is rough but it could use some work. Harley should have chosen a different finish for the the cylinders.

It sucks ass to be like everyone else.

I went out for about 100 mile ride today, tho most of it was through PA, nice riding in amish country. I did spot another Buell in RisingSun MD tho I'm not sure what model, a tuber.

Do any of you guys ride in the Cecil/Harford county area?

Tonight comes the big overhaul:

1.) Putting the newly-packed Jardine can back on the bike
2.) Check Static timing (again)
3.) Pull spark plugs and check gap, replace if necessary.
4.) Add a little more fuel into the fuel map at 30% throttle and 3-4K RPM (Pings like crazy)

I don't know if the Piston rings are in good shape from all the pinging over the years; I get massive amounts of oil blow-by. It seems that the bike runs dangerously lean (115% AFV and detonation [sad]). I might do a compression test just to check.

Get that S done and lets go ride skyline.!.!

May 5th (tentative) me and me wife and a couple people are planning on going to skyline to enjoy the road and then go camping. Let me know if you would like to join and go camping as well.

Me Chris and possibly 1other person are riding. My wife and another friend are taking their cars. We are meeting at Chris' house in Haymarket in the morning and are leaving from there. Its up to you what you want to bring. Bro.

Hey bolt,

I just notice you posted a hour ago you guys are going riding. I'm 10 minutes from the Sheetz in Haymarket? Are you guys going riding Tuesday? Like tomorrow?

Did 1.) and 4.) tonight. Removed the chin fairing entirely. Looks great, although I'll probably get even more "hey bro is that a Ducati??" I'm running the race map, but I'm tweaking the map for more fuel delivery in the 2500-4000 RPM 30% throttle range (still pings ). I checked the static timing last October (and it was good), but maybe I need to check again...

Not sure yet. I ordered new NGK plugs (one step colder), so I'm waiting to pull the plugs. I replaced the plugs last year, but had some issues with the gap, so I'm just going to replace them.

The tuning is tough. I really think that CPS needs adjustment so my static timing is off. Unfortunately, without a rear wheel stand the static timing adjustment is essentially impossible.

1.) Replace plugs first
2.) Attempt to adjust CPS
3.) Tune map

3. is pretty much a moot point without a WBO2 (or two in the case of the Buell). Datalogging with 2 minute rides at 2000 RPM, 3000 RPM, 4000 RPM, and 5000 RPM will have to suffice ... [down]

Use the HD plugs. For what ever reason the Buell's can be hard on plugs. My brother tried NGK plugs in his Uly and he had fowling problems. He replaced them several times and went back to the HD plugs and stopped having fowling problems.
