im new to the fourm and new to buells i was on my buell month ago adn hydro plained on interstate anyways its needs to new front brakes and i dont know if its 6 pistons or 8 pistons so can somebody help me out its a 2009
 
Post a pic.... Otherwise 2009's have a ZTL2 brake (4pot)

RJ means that the ZTL2 brake has 8 pots. If you see four circular regions in the caliper, it is an 8 pot brake caliper.
 
that depends. ... what are you gonna be doing? how are you gonna be riding?
commuting?
trackdays?
canyon carving?

IMHO the disadvantage of the stock pads is pulsing felt at the lever. this can be corrected and avoided. other than that they are more than fine

but for replacement pads: generally 'sintered' anything pads will be great. 'organic' should be avoided

Lyndall Golds are liked for street riding, due to thier progressive feel and smooth stopping with no pulsing. however the friction material wears down faster than others.
this is good and bad. instead of wearingon the rotor, the pads wear away, so you don't chew up your rotor, but instead have to replace your pads more often

other compunds are more abrasive on the rotor and you will eventually find yourself at the minimum thickness of 4.5 mm on the rotor. but don't sweat it.

i like EBC HH's for their intial 'bite' and steady stopping rate (also no pulsing), with the added bonus of being track worthy. i have a set of the extreme perf. that i put in for trackdays while i am swapping rims/tires.

either way, i would not jump to replace your stock pads unless they are worn down. hydroplaning would not be caused by inferior brakes. more likely bald tires/excessive speed for road conditions

linky to the mentioned pads. the prices are competive. you might be able to get a better deal at a local shop/cyclegear with a military discount or sale or something

no no i no its nt why i hydro plained the brakes are down to that warning clip is like scrapeing so i was curious on pads i should put on i do some track days not alot a little bit everything
