THANKS TO DEZERTTUNER the loop hole in fuel pump warranty is thanks to of all people the EPA. the fuel pump assembly falls under the emmisions warranty which is 18,600 miles or 5yrs. i simply took my assembly to the service department mentioned the epa warranty he looked it up and ordered me a new assembly :D:D:D

You stated "miles", so that's for the U.S. I'm assuming.

Does anyone know if that holds up in Canada as well?

Which Harley shop did you go through? Southside Harley in Indianapolis said they had never heard anything like that and will have to look into it, who knows if i'll ever get a call back.

kbonarek, yes it is covered in Canada, but the down side is that there are none.I have been waiting for one since June for my 2008 lightning.

i live in n.e. ohio and he pulled a book out in front of me and it was listed about half way down on the page believe me when i say the dealership that carries buells in my area gives nothing away. the service writer admitted he had never even looked in the book for such a problem before that basic description in the site listed above is also located in the owners manual of the bike and does not really explain anything

if you read the fisrt site listed above and if you look under fuel metering it could be put there because harley sells the pump as a unit which includes the regulator (return system) or under emmision related parts (fuel distributor) good luck and i would print out the epa page and take into dealership if they give you problems e3mcgrath

Cool, thanks for the help/advice. What's the name of the shop so I can have mine call and try to figure it out. what was the problem with yours?
