Yeah don't think I will be able to make it I was between jobs at last meet and couple Buell guys "rob" help me with a place to sleep and I lived in central Georgia. Well I moved to Savannah and it didn't work out, so I'm in west Virginia on a job until the 28th then I'll go back to ga pack up and drive to Arizona to start a job between March 9-23 and we will see how it goes from there!

Hey DJ
Wow sounds like you have had a busy year hope it all works out.

I have the first donations coming in next week with hopefully many more to come

Rob

Well I still have my room but my bike sold this morning....

Looking to pick up a new toy next week sometime though. Probably gonna be Buell-less at the Buell event (will still have one on the trailer as of right now....) although 1125's are going pretty cheap. Gonna at least ride one to give Buell a chance. We shall see.

I'm going to try and make it down for the first time this year. Are there any hotels or other types of lodging around there? I know nothing about the place other than stories and articles. I unfortunately do not own a "tent" like SEXT9.

sorry, im for sure not attending this year

Don't let her get the lead, start planing for next year (2016) now!

j/k but do start planing for next year

Curtis what are you possible canidates?

There are a couple ktm smr's local that I'm interested in a 450 and a 560 also a couple Daytona 675, eventually want both (sumo and 675) but one at a time for now....... It's a toss up what I'll end up with but narrowed down to sumo/675...........

All rooms at the Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort are full, but they do have tent camping if anyone's up for that. Lots of Buell folks stay at the Simple Life Campground, and there is the Iron Horse, ironhorsenc.com. Awesome place. Also check out the Dragon Pitt Inn, dragonpittinnandbbq.com. I haven't stayed there but I can tell you they got some good grub. There will be a dinner ride to the Dragon Pitt BBQ on Thursday.

Just added a day to our reservation!!!

Said last room for that night too so they're booked out starting the 22nd at deals gap........

We'll hopefully get in early on the 22nd giving us 5 days of the best roads on the east coast!!!

You can always run down 28 and stay at the Kickstand Lodge, they will rent you a tent, or a small cabin. Small meaning its just big enough for a queen size bed and some room to change clothes.
I've stayed at Fontana, its nice but was expensive for me since all I did was sleep there.

Hey all, I've had my 03 XB9R for about a year and half and lurking the forum often for tips on this bike, etc. Been street riding sportbikes forever. I finally made my first trip to Deals Gap last year with a friend and his coherts from the YZF600 group forum. It was a fun time, we stayed at the Iron Horse which is an awesome place. Anyway, I want to go back this year and am considering making the trip for the Dragon VIII event so I can meet some other Buellers and go earlier in the year before the schools let out. The YZF trip is late July and roads got a little congested in some places.

I would probably try staying at the Iron Horse again and do tenting. Is anyone else planning on staying there, or is it better to do someplace else where more of the group will be? Will there be many organized rides, and how will a newbie to the group best get to know everyone, riding styles, etc for starting out?

Anyone else from MS, LA, or AL going? I live in Southeast MS. Would probably drive up with the Buell and camping gear in the back of my truck. Super-slabbing it across southern states last time was not all that good of a time (it was really hot mid-day Sun in late July!). Would rather have a radio, A/C, and Coke during that droning ride and save my bike tires for twisties.

All of the events and group rides start at deals gap. If you're camping you should consider staying there. First come first serve on camping and they seem to have enough room.

Good idea not to ride up, save your riding for the mountains.

Definitely a trip worth making. Great people and great time. I sold my Buell but still going back. (We will have a Buell in the trailer though). As far as riding goes RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE!!! There are going to be people faster than you and probably slower but no matter what, do you and what's comfortable for you! Group rides will have a lead and tail rider and will always stop and wait before turning off the road you're on or intersections etc...

So today I fixed my motor mount, my headstock, ordered everything needed and am installing a lil engine upgrade.....dragon, yes please.....
