Hi, i have a 08 XB12S and are going to rebuild my headlights so that i have both dual low and dual high beam, instead of one low and one high like its now/stock/factory.......

I am pretty sure someone did it before me and i have some questions???

-Can i simply buy another kind of H7 bulbs that includes both high and low beam in one and same bulbs, and put one in each lamp, split/redo the wiring from the harness so i have positiv for low and high to each bulb?

-Or do i have to change reflectors inside the headlamps to get a correct light output for both high and low, and then change bulbs and split harness like described above?

-Is there a kit i can buy for this dual high dual low rebulidt out?

Pls contribute

Okuys, i have tried to get the fuckers out of the quick connection really cant get it out even if i push, tug, use nail, thin plyer, only thing ichieved was to break the red wire, AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!

Also this mod will only give me:
Single low beam
Single highbeam and low beam

What i want/wish for is:
Dual low beam,
Dual high beam

This will give 2X light output at both high and low.

Is this posible, pls help contribute, the wiring is no problem, i am an electrician, but i need to know what bulbs to use or and if i need to change/rebuild inside housing/refectors in the factory headlamps to get a correct light output lamps or buy new lamps?????????

Is there a kit for this???

Here is the trick to getting the wires out. Scroll down the the 22nd or so post and you can see the graphic on how to release the wires. I struggled with it until seeing that post. It's simple from there.

Wire switch how-to

But doesn't sound early like what you're looking for.

DDM TUNING HID KIT

Or get the Canadian headlight harness and save yourself a lot of hassle. International bikes are set up to have headlights on all the time. Highbeam switched on and you're lighting up somebody's life.

Ok, thanks again, got it now, the first onbe that i broke th wire on was a hell to get out due to the "damages" i had madein there trying to push and tug, took me about 45 min..........

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

The other one went right out, took me about 3 sek...

Now, dual lights, THANKS!!!!!

Mount 1 set of lights on the top of another set. Turn them sideways so the low beams are both on top. 4 lights total. Wire both sets correctly. Ride and enjoy mad max looking headlights. Just a thought:D

A lil research turned this up......

Use a H4 dual filiment bulb and trim the base to the size of the H7........Then wire aproperatly. This saves any mods to the actual headlight fixture so you can go back to stock at any time.

Freak - Would that work? I thought the projectors had to be set up for dual filament? Aren't the high beam and low beam projectors on our bikes different from each other?

On a Firebolt I know they are. On a lightning Im not sure if the inside is diff or not. A visual inspection says they are the same for both high and low, but I could be wrong.

Many of the Jap Sportbike owner are doing this mod and seem to like it so I dont see why it wont work for us Lightning owners too.

This is a modification I've been wanting to do, just waiting until money allows.

Problem is that both bulbs are the same and the reflectors are different. To do this right you'll need another high beam reflector to replace your low beam reflector. Then replace your bulbs with duel filament and wire correctly. Since you'll be using two high beam reflectors you have to make sure you low beam is dim enough to not blind drivers at night.

I have never noticed a diff in light pattern from low to high on my bike.......just that there is more light on the left when the bright is on.

I will keep looing nto this, thanks for the h4 tip
I believe i need to change ou the proectors......

Thats correct. The reflectors inside each bucket are different and from I have heard the bucket assembly is almost impossible to split. The OP would be better off buying a dual beam/dual bucket after market kit.
