Having the extra power available in a liter bike is not always the smartest thing
dont get me wrong i would KILL to have an 1199 in my garage, NOT as my only bike though
i don't really see what all the hype would be riding around on a bike when you use probably the first quarter turn of the throttle (if even that). just doesn't make a ton of sense. stuff i spend money on, i tend to take INSANELY GOOD CARE OF. meaning if i bought the 1199 it would be DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE for me to dawg on it. so then i have 195 horses and only about 80-100 needed for the gallop and the others hang out in the stable.
and dont get me wrong im not saying the buell is full throttle everywhere i go either, i keep it emaculatly clean, ride smart, don't smash off the rev limiter, and just have fun ON A FUN BIKE.
the 1199 is insanely slick, and clean/****** nasty mean looking. just doens't make sense to have all that power and no room to gallop. i see myslef putting MAYBE 100 miles a month on a bike like that.........fraid so
since ive done as much track riding as i have, i always tell people who want to track their liter bikes, "you should start small, like smaller than 600, and when you can push that bike ALL THE WAY TO ITS LIMIT, then you move to a midsize, then to a 1000, and so on."
jumping on a bike like that without having a clue what its capable of, thats how you get hurt or killed
and on another note, i don't think ERIK got squashed on this one because of the extra 17 horses, he got beat because its $22,000 cheaper and says DUCATI on the tank. lets face it, they aren't using buells in movies like FAST FIVE and I AM NUMBER FOUR, people want the ducati name
