Ducati must not be happy...

i was thinking from an xb lightning or a tuber stand point when i asked that btw. my bars are high and i dont lean over to ride, i guess is a standard style position more then anything really. only time i do lean into my airbox is when its way windy and i dont want to be a sail lol.

I'd stick with the EBR personally, Made in the US Erik Buell is a nice guy and I bet if you rode up to their doors in Wisconson on your Buell or EBR bike they would be pretty cool to you, now if you did that with Ducati the response would not be bad by any means but just not the same. Along with buying a Duc you have the maintenance every 500 miles and of course you need to go into the dealership to get it done to get the annoying service lights turned off. I kow, I know it's a Duc but from a personal standpoint yes they are cool and Duc has been pushing boundaries for a long time but its everybodies love affair bike. I like to have a more unique taste, thanks but no thanks, I'll take the EBR, pass the turkey.

I'm over exaggerating by a little bit, My buddy has an older 996 that he got new, for the first 2k miles he had to bring in the bike every 500 miles to get it serviced, from what he has told me, it was very costly for minor things he could have done himself. He is on the Duc forum and says that newer Ducs have to be serviced less frequently but they still encourage you to bring the bike into a dealership to get it serviced, but even if you do some of the basic servicing the service light and message will still come up and can only be shut off by the dealership tech. I don't own a Duc just running off the information a friend of mine has told me.

The 90's superbikes required maintenance every 6k miles. Cam belts, valve check etc.

Newer ducs maintenance is more spread out.
