EBR ecm

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Well that would shortcut a good bit of time spent doing these resets........... But.... Seeing how the 08+ and 07- TPS systems differ in how they are read by a computer I don't see how that would be possible....

I might very possibly be wrong too!... But that's just my thoughts on the matter...

Excellent ! ... I'm debating on emailing them myself for an answer to the question I posed above ... about the fundamental differences between a stock and an EBR ECM ...

Reply from EBR when asked if the above process DrogeN Omen wrote is for 03-07 EBR ECMs.

Only 08-10.

Earlier models must have TPS reset done by Digital Tech machine at a Buell/H-D dealer.

Thank you,

Whoever said "of course they want you to take it to EBR blah blah so they can make more money" is an idiot. LOL. I'm sure EBR expects everyone to bring their bikes to them to install the ECM and reset the TPS.

The issue, according to EBR's tuner, is that ECMSpy changes certain cells in the ECM when it loads ups. This is fine on the stock ECM but since the EBR Ecm uses different firmware, it can/and does corrupt the ECM. I was the first one they had this experience with and we fried 3 ECMS trying to figure this problem out.

Do it at your own risk. I'll trust the guys that wrote the code, though.

Thanks for posting ebr's response.
If people can create software to mess around with the stock ecm, I'm sure someone could program software to work with the ebr race ecm without corrupting it. I wonder why this hasn't been done yet.
Bought my xb with the ebr race ecm installed, but it's issues like this that sometimes make me wish I had the stock ecm.

this was the instructions that came with the EBR ECU so my mechanic did that and it worked.
hahaha, "it worked". what a bunch of fools.

I would just send the ebr ecm back to ebr, tell them what you want, and have them do it. Of course it costs money but its done right. Imo
