So here we go...
I have installed 35w HID lights into my 2006 Firebolt. I ran wires for the power from the battery using a relay. I have a delay switch that allows the bike to start without the lights on, to prevent damage to the bulbs. When the lights come on the bike dies.

Also when I am riding with low beam on, if I turn bright light on, the engine cuts out for a second and comes back on. The engine light also comes on and shut off quickly.

-The battery has arced from pos to neg with a wrench before.
-I have ran the extra ground wire to provide efficiency for the electrical system.

What Am I missing here?

Either its in the wiring for the lights or your battery and charging system is not keeping up with the demands that are taxing it. Start fem scratch to eliminate one piece at a time. Running the HID's off of the battery through a relay is just using the actual light source from the bike as a signal to turn on the relay. If wired properly you should have the signal 12v from the bike that used to go to the bulb to terminal 85 or 86, ground to 85 or 86(one each to either) 30 to Ballast turn on and 87 to power from the battery. The timer is just taking the signal from the bike and delaying it to the relay till after the bike starts.

Shawns,
Yeah, I wired it properly.

I am thinking it is prob the battery. Once the light comes on, and the sputter happens, the bike runs fine.

okay so after the getting the battler tested it is lower than normal. at about 12.3v sitting.
When I start it up it, idle goes up to a range of 13.3 and reaches 14.4 when the throttle is yanked back.
When i turn on the bright light, the voltage drops to 13.8-14.1 and the bike seems like it wants to die, but only for a split second.

The lights might be drawing too much power, but I have not seen anyone else that has these issues.

The battery is staying charged, but when I put it on the charger, the battery never reaches full charge,(this is why I think it is battery).

But also since the voltage is dropping significantly I also might think that I am getting a bad voltage regulator.

What is your diagnosis?
