fans not running :(

My fan was working perfectly but i just noticed today that its not coming on any more. I check the fuse and it was good, i have no engine light. What should i check for??

no ideas guys . Im thinking about unplugging the fan and plugging it directly on to the battery to see if it works. But im not sure were to go from there if it does work?? Is there any grounds for the fan i cant tell but i wouldnt think so, it should grounded out to the other grounds on the bike.

You haven't recently fitted a right side scoop have you? Since fitting mine, the fan never comes on after short rides, and even remains off after long rides where there's been plenty of cool airflow.

no i havent but i will be. I did rip off the plastic on the rear sub frame/making it naked like a ducti monster. But i noticed it before i did that. I was riding with buddy (he has a xb9s) it was a cooler night like 60-low 70's. his fan came on and mine didnt

Do you have ECMSPY and a cable?

yes i do but i havent plugged it in yet. I just put a small version of windows xb on my mac and havnt given a shot yet. Ecmspy loaded with some a issue, just havnet tried plug in the bike yet

Once you do you can test the fan from ECMSPY

i didnt know that. how do i do that? i guess that means i will have to get my lazy self out in the garage and do that today lol. Thanks for the help guys, lets hope its something stupid simple

Go to the diagnostics tab and click on fan. It will run or not.

it runs when i hit the diagnostic button. Still hasnt come on after a ride or during a ride :? hmm what next? I was thinking about possibly the temp sensor that runs the fan but im not sure were that is located.

well i took a long ride today and it worked i think i was just being paranoid and my engine must not been getting hot enough for it to turn on, on my other rides

hello to all people:
I´m new in this forum, sorry for my english but isn´t my own idiom. i have a Buell xb 9 and she suffers the same problem with the fu.. fan.I try to investigate the problem and surprise.I find the transmission hose broken (provably burned by the proximity of collectors).It´s not possible that´s cause of the fan doesn´t work??i think no,but i´m not sure.
