Ok to you guys saying i should market these, here is my though process.

This seat unit im building this subframe for is a one off piece. I took ducati monster seat foam, re shaped the underside of it, and made a carbon fiber base for it. In reality no other seat would fit this subframe. Also i want this one to be the only one in existence.

HOWEVER i could design and build a subframe that is similar in design to use an xbs seat or even a slightly modified ducati monster seat. The monster seat would need minimal trimming where it meets the airbox, and recovering.

My bike is an xb9r so all the electronics are in the front fairing. I have moved everything to the airbox, including the battery. the only thing that will reside in my subframe is the reservoir for the rear shock. I love the clean empty look.

If there is enough interest, say 5+ people, i will consider building something. I would like to see more diversity on these bikes.

No sure what material you are using but based on your design and material pending, I would be wary of using this setup with a passenger. If you were looking into selling you may want to take that into consideration. Last thing you want is a lawsuit. Looks good though. Glad to see you took initiative and went for it [up]

Remember this is a mockup ^ Actual subframe will be .500" 7075 aluminum. Stress analysis says it will support 970lbs within .050" deflection at its furthest point, the passanger section.

If I produce anything the design will be slightly different.

But I understand and recognize your concern. If I do produce anything for non personal use I will ensure its strength.

Many of use want more than just the semi-expensive xbs option or the uber-expensive european ones. You may have a market there - just work on your part to capitalize.

But of course, I understand you wanting a one off-piece. Much respect!

How avalable - pricy is the 1190 rx tail and seat?

I have no idea, but I think whatever the price is, it would be worth the money. The tail on the rx/sx is just plain sexy.
