First of the Last

The headlight came from a wrecked 1190SX. The bracketry was bent a little. So I spent some time reshaping it. I also cleaned up the headlight.



I'm not to worried about cleaning up the plastics. They will get resanded or replaced anyway. I noticed something interesting though, the Laguna Blue is painted over white plastics. Do everyone with any color than white get painted plastics?

And for anyone wondering about the dash. The Garmin Zumo 660 will fit like a glove when I'm done.

You guys want to see something cool? I noticed the bottom bracket bolts right up to the lower triple tree. No modification. I have an aftermarket top triple on my bike. So I checked the standard triples on another project I'm working on. The bracketry bolt right up to standard lightning triple trees. It even looks like your ignition switches will exit the side of the brackets.

Ok. Here's my last picture for tonight. Hopefully it gives you an idea what the 1190SX headlight might look like on an XB. I'm headed off to get some sleep. The project will take a new direction from here tomorrow.

Today I worked some more on the headlight. I'm not using the original dash pod. So I've removed it and modified the bracketry. I've also figured where I'm going to put everything so it is neat and organized. The template is made for the base plate. I'll start working on the dash tomorrow.

I agree with you. After trying the headlight on this bike, I decided I did not like it on there either. I didn't like the gap between the forks and headlight.

My project bike, the background bike needed a headlight. Some time ago someone on that thread mentioned using an 1190SX headlight on it. So I decided to take you guys advice and leave the CR headlight on this bike and install it over there. I am going to install the Crystal Clear plastics. I have a clear windscreen coming. In the end I may use the Kick Ash. But it is nice to have color options.

Integrated CR Headlight

The EBR headlight wasn't what I wanted. So, I dropped another headlight on my bike.

This week I changed out a few minor things.



Since the headlight has the running and turn signals built in. I replaced lighted mirrors with unlighted versions.

I also painted the silver front engine mount the same color as the frame.

I also sanded down and repainted the Pegasus right side scoop. It was white.

And I changed out the Knight Designs shifter and rear brake lever for some from the same company that have slots or hole in them.

I just finished up building battery holder / M-Lock mount.

For some time now I've been trying to figure out how I'm going to put some Buell emblems on. Trouble is I didn't want to use the stock Buell raised letters. I was a bit at a loss until I saw this: http://www.ratpakrecordsamerica.com/erik-buell. So I had some custom guitar picks made.



The minimum order was for a 100 picks. So I have extras if anyone wants some.

I've been in the process of blacking out a few more things. I recently ordered a black front brake line and installed it.



Right after taking the picture, I tore the bike down to remove the headers. They're getting sent off to Jet-Hot for coating.
