octopus are you rinning your wb in stock rear,or did you put a bung in front exhaust also?

Just rear for now.

Eventually I will have an O2 bung welded in the front to map the front cylinder more accurately.

Right now I'm struggling with some issues between LC-1 and ECM. When I have it settled, I'll write a how-to on datalogging and tuning with the newest set of software (TunerPro, ECMRead, and MLV).

great just got my lc1 in mail, but im still using megalog and ecmspy, i am little scared of learning all new software again

well heck i have rode my bike for about a month, generally in th early morning and it was very responsive and clean acceleration. but as the day warms up there is alot of stumble and a big hole around 3500-4500 and then it jumps up and pulls hard again reminds of a 2 stroke power band. now i have done some research on my particular ecm firmware and i can't seem to find a remap for my firmware listing, short of dropping 250. on the ebr ecm,I would really like to save some money and find a compatable map, I have been working with the ecmspy but I have nothing to go by so i do very little adjustments run it for awhile and still only early morning does it run well. so what now octopus you seem to have some good knowledge help direct me before i burn up.

Your experience with the flat spot is pretty common. I had the same issue until I started datalogging and changing fueling.

Let's start with the most basic of questions: what year and model is your bike?

yes it is i have been hooked up and saw the map before mods and after it made some adjustments on its own but not enough for the temp. changes.I would love a map to just load in. but if i can't get that just some direction would help. I lack the confidence in my computer knowledge to make big adjustments and the time it will take the way i am going I will go bonkers.

In reality, your best bet is to datalog and tune. I'm going to be pumping out a how-to on that topic in the near future.

Short of that, what mods have you done to the bike?

thanks for keeping up with me Octo, that said I have the jardine F-1 pipe K&N filter and breather bypass.I know that this is a push rod motor but this thing really pulls hard at the high end of the tach. it makes pretty good torque on the low end to mid tach when it runs good in the cool weather but pulls like a monster 5000 and up and being a feel rider rather then a tach watcher i end up bouncing off the 7200 rev limiter it seems that it is still pulling real hard at the limiter does that sound a little odd for this type of motor? and i can't wait for that how to on datalog and tune I have the ecm cord, ecmspy, tuner pro it seems that the ecmspy gives me the best readings

Darn I forgot I do live in Riverside,CA. so temp goes from good cool thick air to hot and dry in just a couple hours

That sounds totally normal.

If you wait till the end of July, I can help you in person. I'm moving back to the Los Angeles area July 21st. I'll be in Pomona.

Writing the how-to is finished. Now I just need to work out a couple details before I post.

Hey im still pretty new to this forum but I'm gona be modding my 09 xb12r when it gets to fort bragg mid july. Parts goin on right away include open airbox kit, K&N filter, breather re-route and possibly a pipe. Might make my own and see what I get for results. I have a wideband 02 sensor from AEM that I had on a turbo cobalt LS and I'm gona install on my bike. I'm assuming I'll have to get another 02 sensor to read the front or rear cylinder at the same time? I've never tuned a engine so I'm flyin by the seat of my pants on this one. I already downloaded all the programs and made sure the ecmspy opens but still kind of confused on how all this works i'll have to read this post a bazillion times. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Anyone in the Fort Bragg, NC area that would be able to help me out with this once I get ready to start tuning?

Okay im having problems installing the driver cable, i think its my computer because ive tried multiple times with different instructions. And, in all the instructions the cable is shown as a USB serial Driver and mine comes up as TTL232R....
Now, I have 3 questions.
1)Is this the wrong cable?
2)Does anyone want to either:come to me and help me...or, can I send someone my ECM to get it tuned?
3)Is this tune even necessary, i have a Hawk pipe with a K&N filter

@Arkitek: its a 2005..and here's what ive noticed so far:
I finally got the cable installed, and then i went into the ECMSpy and TunerPro, and i began to change the values as the instructions said, but there was different(from what i gather) RPM ranges between ECMSpy and TunerPro...so i wussed out and cancelled out to do more research, because i didnt want to burn the ecm and have an incorrect fuel map.
ECM Spy shows the ranges as: 800,1000,1200,1700,2300,2900,3400,4000,5000,6000,7000,8000.
And TunerPro Ranges are:800,1000,1350,1900,2400,2900,3400,3900,4400,5000,6000,7000,8000.
So, i adjusted the intervals that matched, but didnt feel confident that, that was right....anyone...what do i put for the rpm ranges that dont match?

good to hear you got the drivers figured out.. As far as mapping it i recommend contacting randy for a map. I know he can flash your ecm for you if you want to send it to him but you got the tools to do it yourself... Or maybe some of the other guys here could chime in and help you out.

I have a 2010 xb12r so it learned everything for me. It even realized the exhaust valve was no longer present...:)

SUCCESS!!!!! I remapped the stock ecm using the variables present, just drove around for 15 min to check the power band, and its def different, before the bike was real jerky when i rolled on the throttle, and now its really smooth! I can definitely see myself changing some more on this to squeeze out more power. Now its time to do some mods! Thanks alot for that link Arkitek!
