1994.. I had a kitted-up 1989 ninja 600r..remember those? hahaha basically an old Norton with a i4 600 stuffed into it and some plastic on it.. that thing was like riding an electric fence.. and these guys today complain about buell vibes.. shhiiit that's nothing compared to those old 600s. those old bikes were more dangerous than we remembered them.. ahhah dove like cray cray under braking too... top heavy as fukk haha

THAT THING right here..

boy it sucked by todays standards... cant believe they made them for as long as they did..

that bike did do one thing though... it forced you to face realities.. you felt everything, no technology to shield you from what those wheels were doing.. 100mph felt like... "a hundred miles per hour" on a 1988 hurricane 600 100mph felt like ... "seventy something miles per hour" hahah

My first ride on a sportbike was my older brothers RZ 350. Man that's one memory I'll never forget!

Blue smoke rockets......those and the rd's would give a run to the 600 I4's and sometimes even hand the I4's a whooping...lol. the good old days, a dude that rode w us had a red and white one. It was a nasty little fu@ker

Ha. Its funny looking back in time ain't it? My first "real" bike was a Yamaha FZR 600. I believe it was a 89 or 90. At the time it was pretty sweet. I bet if I rode it now I'd be laughing, and possibly terrified. Remember these things? I remember it feeling like I was sitting on a buzzing bees nest and at 6k and up it made my balls itchy.

My first "sport" bike was a 1989 fzr600 in black, I bought it brand new, (DAMM IM GETTING OLD) had a jet kit and Vance & Hines full system put on it day one, I thought that thing was the sh*t!!!

This is awesome talking about all these old sport bikes, I remember going halves on a two pack of yellow bulbs w my buddy so he could have one yellow bulb on his fzr and I could have one on my gsxr, that was the look. I also had a full basani exhaust on my gsxr, I beat the living day lights outta that poor bike til it was near dead. Wound up trading it for a $1000 cash, under car neon kit for my mustang gt convertible, and two square kicker ten inch subs. Damn I wish I had that bike back, took my motorcycle test on that old girl.....oh well such is life.

"Damn I wish I had that bike back"

I would need a pole barn if I still had all the bikes I had, but back then you would sell one to but another, now I finally learned just to keep them...now have three and always looking for another one! My next purchase will most likely be a 08-10 Uly:up:

John, We'll call that the "triple-max"...very nice! Love that tail...retro sport bike.
