I went out with my buddy and he took his new vmax.. he was behind me about 4 bike lengths and I was on my little 9sx going about 40mph... out of the blue I took off giving it all she got, banging up the gears...... I got to about 70mph or so and BOOOM! HE WAS WAY OUT HEAD OF ME .. it was like someone fired off a pistol shot next to my head, that's how fast it was... he must have hit 140mph in that little space of a few hundred yards... ****ing impressive ive never seen anything like it.. made a busa look dead slow.

its not stock, got a carbon Yoshi on it and some other stuff... I'm not ****tin' that thing was ****ing fast.. never seen anything like it..

Anybody can go fast in a straight line, take him on a ride on some nice curves, that bike is about 200 lbs heavier, I bet he wont be able to stick to your rear tire.

All them V Max's are impressive speedmachines. From any era! I always wanted one. Some day one will be mine.

I raced a guy on a new Vmax last summer with my modded Diavel. It was a chicken contest. I gave in, he won. That thing was stupid fast. I'll never know how much after market junk he had on there. But I have a pretty built up bike. Termi exhaust, race Ecm , high flow intake and bigger injectors. Its a pretty serious machine. That thing was right next to me till I chickened out.

I think he catched fire right when he passed me. Could have been Nic Cage?

Movie stars ride Confederate, Confederate have 2200cc, which is way bigger than 1700cc Vmax, and Confederate are way lighter than XB.

that vmax is a v-4 motor making about 175hp and a ton of torque like 115lbs.. it will tear a confederate out of the picture frame.. only thing faster in a straight line right now is a Zx-14, I think ...this thing is a BULLET..i would probably take nicks diavel myself but still.. that thing is nothing to laugh at.. I was going full tilt and that **** blasted passed me like a gunshot..my dick felt real small at that moment .. ha ha you gotta ride against one to fully understand it.. ask Nick, he will tell you. its weird to see a cruiser that quick.

when it passed me it was like being next to a freight train being shot out of a cannon..

yeah about 500.. a lot a hp and tq but they don't give speed specs.. its probably got a real good bottom and mid but I doubt it could take the V on the top end...maybe but I think that v-4 would win out eventually

So are we really talking about a confederate barely 1 person bike at a ****ton of $$$ vs an affordable VMAX? The wife wants to ride with me... she thinks. My next bike is a Vmax.

Edit- think about the cost to repair if something goes wrong? Stunning.
Edit#2- TPEHAK - you say the Confederate is way lighter than an xb with 2200 cc's?? Please elaborate.

Confederate is more a piece of art than a motorcycle. An ugly ass piece of art at that. None of the "designers" of the confederate have any actual mechanical engineering or automotive/motorcycle engineering or design experience before setting off to create confederate. At least that's what I've gathered from articles and television shows I've forced myself to read/watch out of a pure desperation for anything two wheel related.
And Gloom no offense buddy but I've come to terms with this simple fact many many years ago... ...an XB is not a very fast bike. Especially an xb9.
Yes an XB will crush just about anything on a curvy mountain road but as far as speed... ...an sv650 will give you a run for your money.
Please don't give me 0-60 times or any of that. I know our bike have great acceleration. But your post is all about straight line speed. We have none.
So I guess from that perspective that Vmax was setting a land speed record.
I am not saying the Vmax or the ugly as sin abomination of a motorcycle know as confederate aren't fast.
I'm just saying from having riden an xb9 and owning a moderately modified xb12r, XBs are fairly slow compared to most anything liquid cooled and in a sport/standard category.

well **** chickin I'm not saying that I was surprised that it was faster, I knew that from the very start.. I'm just saying how fast that vmax actually is! and my boy who has it isn't a real top notch rider either... he said it had even more than that but he was afraid to apply it. being there and seeing one in action is impressive. our bikes are in middle weight twin class anyway.. apples and oranges but if you look at what we run against in our class , the XBs still look good against them. ..aging well. my 12 is considerably quicker than my 9 though... once the Honda is finished I'm going to take care of that though.. I am going to have that 1203 crank I bought a while back worked on and I'm thinking about going big bore 12 or something.. I love my S.. just not wild on that 984 that is inside it... I'm gonna change that stroke

Didn't mean to sound like a dick. I just remember how much my ego hurt when I finally faced the fact about my glorious sport bike.
I do agree though, the Vmax is nasty! Even the old 80s Vmax will give a modern motor a run for its money.
XBs are about class.
That has nothing to do with speed or looks

class, handling and street focus.. I want 2 more of them, I need a custom tuber and a 1125 naked... something about a M2 makes me want one.

"I need a custom tuber"

One look at Pur Ponys bike (January 2016 calendar) and I think everyone wants a tuber!

Pur Pony has the classiest, cleanest and most visually appealing tuber I've ever seen.
Nicholas900 has the most beautifully modified XB I've ever seen.
Pretty cool both those guys like to hang here in the slums with the likes of us!
