the thing is, where it happened, it doesn't matter if I was speeding or not, it would have happened.

Glad you are still here to ride another day!!!It sucks big time but it is a risk.Hang in there and take it easy for a while...:D

Poilce report still isn't done yet. Yesterday they said the officer was notified of some corrections he needed to fix. Called today and it still wasn't ready.

Got back from the doc today, that was a wasted trip. He came in, didn't look at my foot or explain anything, said that it broke in place and surgery was not needed, said to come back in 5weeks. Then he left, that was it, I could have just called for that but ut us good news I guess.

Damn that piggy (no ofence to you other law enforcers out there) needs to hurry up and file your report so you can get things taken care of... just a reminder as my friend was told in the ER no doctor no matter how good can tell you if your back and neck hurt or not ;)

Unloaded the bike off the truck just now, Rear motor mount is broke, rear swing arm support arm is broke, front fairing mount is broke, right peg is gone, right side foot bracket warped, heel guard demolished, new belt shredded, front forks won't lock, turn signal missing, mirror damaged, frame puck ripped, pazzo levers bent, hand grip ripped, rear brake lever and system trashed headlight busted out, front rim bent. So far that seems like all thats wrong, will get pics up soon

I've got that one and the brake lever is scratched but looked a little more and its not bent is the perch on the end of it. I also have a misorder for new Pazzo levers. They are Shortys, oragne and silver for an 1125R if anyone is interested.

Dude, not a single thing. [mad] Went in today and the police report wasn't ready yet, hadn't been turned in supposedly. Haven't heard a single thing from anyone yet though.

where do y ou live hazzard county? it's been over a week...something isnt right

I went through my own personal hell 3 years ago with a kid on a cell phone. For what it's worth, stick to your guns, do NOT threaten to sue them and don't panic. This is going to take time. They will give you what you think is fair for your bike plus all your ancillary gear. I got full replacement cost for mine and over book for the 1200 Bandit. The key is, I settled the PD without a lawyer and they will really bend over backwards if they think there's a chance you won't hire one. There's where not threatening to sue comes in. As they say, never show all of your cards right off. If you start lawyering up, they'll shut down. The big one though is not to panic. I know about the bills being due and that it's rough. I was out of work for 3 months (off the bike for a year) on mine. Insurance companies can smell desperation like a stale elevator fart. Just be cool and you'll do much better. By all means, hire a lawyer but only after they cough it up for your PD. Hope that helps.

P.S. I forgot to mention that you CAN settle PD without settling for the accident itself. Just make sure that you are only settling PD when you sign. Also, after your lawyer takes a third, you still have to re-pay the insurance company for your medical out of the remaining settlement. A good lawyer will negotiate that down to a fraction of the actual cost. In my case, total medical bills were over 50k and I payed back about 18k. Good luck to you.
