As I was riding I hear a klinking noise from my header, I look down, and the front header clamp bolt heads snapped off, but the bolts are clearly still in the engine holes, so I have 2 headless bolts in the engine and a header with no clamp attached, my dads on the way with my truck, happen to anyone else? And suggestions on how to fix? 2005 xb9r

Ok, where would I get those new parts, Abd how install the new ones? I'm 17 with little metal work experience any help would be appreciated!!

Welcome to hell!

I had one shear off on me half a year ago.
DO NOT use an easy out!!!!!
If you do end up using one the bigger the better. I had a small one snap off and that was twice a pain.

Harley has new studs. You should honestly see if you can get ahold of a jims tool so you don't drill into the cylinder head.

if you can take it to a pro it is fairly easy but if it goes wrong it can get really bad fast.

A machine shop, if you can take the head off. Other than that...I'm not 100% sure. Maybe a local bike shop you trust

did they both snap? if just one broke you can use a drill jig but if they both did i would be taking the head to a machine shop

edit: you said they both broke, i would be looking to a machine shop.

any decent bike shop can get them out of the front without removing the header, head or anything else.

yea i guess mine broke because it was stuck and they broke when i was trying to remove them, yours might not be that stuck. a LH drill bit or ez out might work. i had to drill out the whole stud. drilling out the whole stud with a drill without a jig is not going to go well, the bit will walk unless you have it in a drill press or mill.
