Hello Everyone...

My name is Dirk and I am new to this site.. I am not a advance biker but recently started. Currently I am riding Honda CBR 600.. But soon I will change it, now I am considering about Buell bikes... specially the 1125. So I'm here to get some basic knowledge about that bike. I hope I am on right place. Thanks

What all do you want to know??? I have an 1125 (2008) and just recently sold my CBR 600RR... The 1125R has more torque than the CBR and the power is much more readily available than the CBR (you dont have to wind it up much). It is easier to work on because unlike the CBR, the 1125 doesnt have 80,000 bolts and screws to take off the body work. It is belt driven, so you dont have to worry much about lubing any chains, actually not at all unless you have another chain driven bike. There are a few issues with the 1125's, however all of them are fix-able.

all models I believe have had an issue with the clutch fluid leaking from a hole underneath the clutch. There is a part that fixes this, and it is relatively cheap. The 2009 and newer models have issues with the charging system. There is a fix for this as well, but it is a little more costly if you do it the right way. by issues, I mean the stators go out roughly every 6K miles. I have not had this problem, but there are a lot of threads available on here with the details.

I like my 1125R more than my CBR, but they both serve/served a purpose. I for one am a fan of 2 cyl. bikes over 4 cyl. they rev lower, but there is typically more torque, and they sound nice IMHO. The 1125 gets a little less gas mileage than the CBR. I think I average somewhere between 30 and 35 in town, and about 40-45 hiway.

If you want any more info, let us know. Most people on here are pretty awesome at providing knowledge, stories, and their share of BS.

Welcome to the board.
