That helmet meets the European ECE R22-05 certification standards....not exactly sure how that relates to DOT standards though.

Nah its not DOT approved. Steve was right it is Euro union approved and also Snell approved tho. Also if you wear contacts or your eyes are sensitive to the wind I would not advise that helmet. You get ALOT of wind around your face, def not a winter helmet.

Nice lid Thaloc, as you can see I chose the silver graphic.

Also the other is for the long trips, little more protection and quieter. Plus it matches the ink on my are, just a reason for why I liked the helmet.
