My bikes at my work right now because my bike wont start. Turn the key hit the button and nothing. Gauges work, fuel pump runs but nothing else. Is it my starter, loose wire?
If that was the prob would I hear it even trying? Another problem I have is before I would hit the button and would pause for a second and then start. Anything to be concerened about or is it normal?
I think he was describing what I have come across when my batter is low in the colder months. You hit button, it starts to go and stalls then goes again. Hook it up to a battery tender overnight and you should be good. If not do as midnight says, check your grounds.
Alright guys, it's on the charger right now. Thank you all for your help. I might have blown it out of proportion (dont know yet) but I just HATE when I get off work ready to ride and this kinda stuff happens and I dont like leaving it where I'm not.
very common with harley starters on the compression stroke .all will do it after a while....when the motor starts turning over then theres a delay....take your finger off the starter button...then try again...there not metrics your riding a harley...your battery and starter will last much longer..
Got a new battery today and does not seem to be the problem. Where is the starter located at and all the grounds? There is absolutly no click sound or anything shouldnt the solenoid be clicking?
The starter is on the back side of the motor above the transmission. Two other causes if thats not the issue, Kick stand starter interrupt or the bank angle sensor.
Dont know if this would have anything to do with this mess. Last week I was stopped at a stop light, as I was taking off the bike just died. Pull the clutch in and fired it back up and took off. Would this all tie togather?
ALIGHT! Figured it out. Loose connection on the clutch lever. NEVER had to pull clutch in before, now I have to. Had a loose connection all along. Thanks all for you help, I really appreciate it. Will use posts for future problems, although I hope I wont need too.
