Hi guys,

After a short weekend ride, now every time i turn the ignition, on the dash I got the hi-beam indicator on with no headlight at all. After I turn on the kill switch and start the bike, the headlights starts.

Someone has experienced this before?? Any solutions??
Thanks guys and best regards!!!

Frank.

I've got something similiar to this.:. I got the HID kit from ddm with the harness and now when I turn the bike on both lights are on and I can't turn them off or down with the switch... and the high beam light on the dash is always on

Could be that the 'mass'[not sure if this is the right word for it] connection on the lower triple tree is not connected or broken, I had this just a couple of days ago.:(
The hi beam indicator was on al the time until I fixed it.:D

sounds about like Petrus said to me. There is a short or ground issue somewhere causing the light to falsely indicate your high beam being on.

mine did the EXACT same thing and turned out to be the grounds on the steering neck. turn the bars to the right and look on the neck between the trees, you should be able to see the ground cluster bolted to the neck.only one of mine was broke but I put a new eyelet on and reattatched and all is good.

Again no headlights!!!

Well after nearly a month I've just verified there was a ground short, Again all the sudden I got no headlights at all!!!. And another glitch this time, once the bike is on, and I push throttle up, around 3K, lights turns on and of when I got back to idle.
Really I don't know what to do.

Please give me your advice to this!!!

Best regards,

Franklin

You definitely need to thoroughly go through your harness. Also - look at the ground connection at the bulbs. You should also be able to take apart the switch assembly and look at the contacts inside of there and check the soldered connections. Also, a multimeter is your friend. Just make sure that you disconnect your battery if you are electrically challenged to ensure you don't hurt yourself or the bike (mainly ECM).

I know that that's probably not what you wanted to hear. If you're close by, I'd be more than happy to troubleshoot it for you, but without eyes on it's pretty much just a guessing game for us.

EDIT: Also check all the connections at the fuse box and the relay box - vibrations can cause issues here.

Thanks Sirius815,

Last night I just rewire the ground to the frame and lights went on perfectly. However I will check connections at the fuse and relay box.

Excellent help!!!

Hey no problem - I didn't really help. What I posted is merely the basic way to troubleshoot any electrical gremlin of the sort. Seen way to many on helicopters - pretty much all due to excessive vibration and chaffing.

Glad you fixed your bike though! [up]
