HID Time Delay Mod

Okay. So got it all wired up. It works. Turn the key, LEDs on my handguards, (my marker lights, hooked up to the park light) A 40 second delay, low comes on, I switch to high, low stays on and high is also on. BUT my parking lights shut off now. Shit! How can I keep them on with low and high on as well? Also, I think I wanna get a new pig tail, the female side. They cheap? Where to buy?

Buelldude. Another fix to your last drawing, you have the "dual on" mod but your wiring harness in the pic doesn't show that. The yellow and white should be swapped in the male plug right?

Thanks for the help!!!!

Yeah you are right on the drawing I just haven't had a chance to change it yet figured ppl would be able to get it. Hey I think I know whats up i still have your number I will call you this afternoon and explain it.

Hey all, I know its been a while but I've just bought the HID lights from ddm and have a couple of questions. First off, using the parking light for low beam will disable my 'halo' parking lights (it's an 09) when headlights are off, right? Also Racer mentioned that the drawing should be edited by swapping the high and low beam wires, why is this?
Thanks for your help.

Yes you will lose your parking light since you be using the parking light circuit to power your low beams and the time delay relay. I would make sure the wiring harness is back to stock before doing the mod it will make it easier to do everything. Pm me with any questions or just ask on here I will be happy to help.

Does anyone know of a way to keep my parking lights functional without the use of a relay? My cg doesnt have much space so the smaller the solution the better. Could I splice the parking wire? Or is there another source I could wire to power the low beam? Don't want to put too much of a load on the factory harness.

Yes I am running hid lights that is the whole point of the mod when you put on the high mean there is no delay. Also, you can just splice in your parking light if you want it to remain functional.

Thanks for the help! Looking forward to the install. Mod bug has bit for sure.

If I splice the parking lights, won't the time delay start ticking when I switch the ignition to 'Park'? Not sure why I want these park lights so bad.. I just don't want to lose the feature.

I have been running two 55w ballast off stock harness with dual headlight mod for several months now and no problem should I be worried ? I got a lightning xb9sx I can even start it with both headlights on ?

You might be fine but you are taking a chance if you overload the circuit and the fuse does not trip you can burn up your lighting harnesses. Also, I wouldn't recommend starting the bike with the lights on. The whole reason for there time delay relay is to prevent the hid ballasts from being damaged during starting. Just my 2 cents though

HEY i looked and you are absolutely right my drawing was off I got confused haha so here is a new one. White is Represented by Grey in the picture which is HIGH BEAM, Yellow is LOW BEAM and is no longer used, Black is GROUND. And Orange/White is the park which is now the LOW BEAM and Relay power/trigger. Here is a new pic sorry for the confusion hope this clears it up for people.

Hey all, so I followed this diagram on my 07' XB12STT. At first I was only able to get the light to flicker a fraction of a second with "key on bike off". I tried the second bulb in the kit and got nothing, switching back to the first bulb I then got the light to work with "key on bike off" or starting. I can not get the relay to do any delay however on this setup! Possible bad relay? I also seem to have gotten a bad ballast in the kit, traced power for high beam all the way into the ballast but lost checking the power lead out with a test light.

Whats on the bike:

- DDM 55w 5000K high and low kit
- Wolsten Tech Negative-Switching Time-Delay Relay "TDR" version (mine has 5 connections, some of these threads show only 4?)

On the TDR I have the switch set to off. Using the 5 connection relay and the setup that is posted in this thread, I've used lead marked 1 on the TDR, nothing is connected to lead 2.

For a temp fix I have the high beam set to the low beam bulb and relay going to nothing, so no high beam hooked up. I'm able to start the bike and switch the high beam on giving me low beam light for now.

-thanks guys for any help on this
