How do I do Firebolt front fairing lowering mod?

Thank you for the kudos and the rep vote. I am very pleased.

Yes, the bracket does look like it is actually a part of the frame.

With a 2 inch drop I believe you would have to go at least an inch forward for the handlebars to clear (steering lock to steering lock) without interference - possibly more if you are going to do the radial master cylinder mod. Don't know if that inch less of forward extension would appear much less "too far forward" for you.

Nice work! But Like TWOGUNS said, its a bit much for me. If it could be maybe 1/2 to 3/4 on the bottom, and a inch maybe an 1 1/4 on the top. I would be all over it. But as far as quality, you get an A+++ for execution.

Contact Drummer Racing - like Kevin did for me, he will make you a bracket that will lower to the custom dimensions you specify. And the price is quite reasonable, I would say. I can't speak for Kevin, of course, but he may even charge you less than he charged me, because after this its not a one-off custom that he has to engineer every detail of and fabricate, but now with this experience under his belt it is "simply" a matter of adjusting the design to accommodate your dimensions.

I know this is an old thread but it seems to me that this modification would/could potentially cause instability of the front section? How does it handle high speeds??

I am not sure why you would speculate that lowering and moving the fairing forward would cause instability at high speed, but I can report that over the longer term, and with a good deal of high speed riding, that I notice no difference in the handling of the motorcycle at any speed. I also have noticed little, if any, difference in the fairing's ability to deflect on coming wind up an over the rider. Additionally, since performing this mod, I have installed a radial front brake master cylinder from ASB and aftrmarket aluminum brake fluid reservoir. This mod enables the clearances required for this uograde. To summarize, long term I remain extremely happy with this mod.

Here is the clearance provided by adding the fairing extension with the fairing lowering mod for the radial front brake master cylinder upgrade with aluminum brake fluid reservoir:
