How to ID a race can?

How would one ID a race muffler from one that's just painted silver? I'd think there'd be a marking on it somewhere, but I can't remember ever hearing of it.

2002 xb's had a plate riveted on it that said "for race use only" 2003 and up had it stamped into it.

The giveaway is the dual exhaust tips...

AND the exhaust "tip" within a tip:

And there's like a whole paragraph of writing on the bottom about RACE USE ONLY.

I was looking at a bike on CL and the muffler is silver, I was thinking it'd be a better deal if it was a race pipe. I'll email him for more pics.
