Ok trying to figure out how warm it gets under the airbox? Looking at paint and most say up to 200 degrees. Will this be high enough? I know it gets warm under there and don't want it gumming up.

tape one of them old school themometer to the inside of your airbox cover and let us know, can't imagine it getting to 200 deg

Extreme, I'm a little confused? Help me out on this, what exactly are you painting? My air box cover doesn't doesn't get hot to the touch?

I feel like this is one of those obvious ones I'm over looking?[confused]

I wouldnt worry about heat from inside the airbox cooking your paint. It doesnt get that hot. What kinda paint are you using? I just use dupli color paint shop its cheap and easy to work with, dries fast .i use 3 color coats then 3-4 clear with about 15psi in a hvlp. My bike is black and id say it gets hotter sitting in the sun than when running.

Well I am doing an airbox delete and making a cover to hide the ugly bottom portion of the black airbox.. If I am gonna show it off I want it to look good. I will post pics once I get it done.
