I just bought a 2002 buell XB9R with 3,000 miles on it. I have been reading thought all of everyones posts. It seems like the PCV mod and removing the top of the factory air box and making a plate over the air filter is a must! What about hollowing out the factory muffler? I am a mechanic and a good welder. Will the bike run like crap, will I notice a powerloss? I just spent all my money on this bike so im on a tight budget right now. Factory exhaust is KILLING me! It sounds great at idle but like a lawnmower going donwn the street.

You will lose some off the bottom, but can make up for it by adding fuel in certain cells of the maps as long as you don't completely gut the muffler.
