CRX can you explain some of these problems. This will be a first issue ive heard as I switched to royal purple after about 85k on my FLH and about 130k in my car with no side effects besides a quieter engine

I just switched to royal purple, bought a case of it,ran amsoil last year,I don't notice any difference!!!Maybe I have to wait for the 90+ degrees?

is the hot temps where royal purple really shines? cause im in florida and I deal with a TON of traffic so I want the best I can buy

Here's the full Oil Comparison link. It was performed by Amsoi, so not suprisingly, Amsoil came out ranked #1. But I do think that it's credible enough to give attention to. So much so, I think I'm dropping my Royal Purple for some Mobil 1 next round.

Googled till my eyes hurt and never found anything more credible than that. Thought I might find some kind of University study or something but no luck.

Seafoam has been around for a long time. It is basically a mixture of solvents that will remove built up deposits due to heat, dirt, bad fuel, bad oil etc. Used in the crankcase it will free up sticky stuff but too much of it will lessen the oils ability to do its job, so don't go overboard here. A couple of ounces in the gas tank will help with combustion chamber and air intake system cleanup. I do not use it with every fillup just every so often. I use it in everything I own, however as it really works to keep things clean on the inside. Always read the instructions on the can before use. Also Bob the Oil Guy has a sight with awesome information on motor oils.

Drive safe.

i use about 1.25 Ounce of seafoam per gallon every fill up and every now and again i will pour 2 ounces directly into the intake and let it sit for a little while. I am curious though to what seafoam is made of because it looks a lot like B12 chemthol which is 1/3rd the price

does anyone know where I can get the mobile v-twin? i've lloked all over can't find it :(

walmart sells it here. I am not a mobile 1 fan. My father was an ASE master cert mechanic and worked for sears for the last 26years before his passing. They did a huge oil test spanning from 1988 till present on every different type of oil and additive for a car/truck. Mobile1 did 5 times worse then Walmarts supertech full synthetic. now for a conventional oil, mobile clean 5k did very well, i think it was 2 or 3.

Autozone sells it so does advanced auto parts Autozone even can either get or has the mobil 1 oil filter

i wish an independent company strictly tested the motorcycle oil and did the amsoil, redline and RP.

I've only used AMSoil. i buy it direct from their website for a pretty decent price when you buy a case. approx $12/qt

after doing some more research I found this. It is based on the report in the last page about the oils

I believe Harley oils are made by Sunoco. Here is how Amsoil does their tests, doesn't get much more impartial than this: The testing used to evaluate the lubricants was done in accordance with American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
procedures. Testing was finalized in May 2009. Test methodology has been indicated for all data points, allowing for duplication
and verification by any analytical laboratory capable of conducting the ASTM tests. A notarized affidavit certifying
compliance with ASTM methodology and the accuracy of the test results is included in the appendix of this document. Five
different laboratories were used in the generation of data listed within this document. In all cases blind samples were submitted to reduce the potential of bias. (in simple terms, they don't do their own testing)

Amsoil did not do number 1 is all of the testing but overall it came out on top. so Thats what im sticking with.

weird question but what oil should i change if i think the engine is a little noisey... the primary or engine?
