Ok complicated situation (no judgment please). So I just moved out to Massachusetts from Phoenix and everything that could go wrong on the move did. Long story short, amongst all complications I had to leave my Buell with my buddy in Minnesota because my jeep was struggling under the weight of the trailer. Well this buddy was also an ex that after my stop in Minnesota was trying to rekindle the flame. Yesterday he bitched out sends me 36 texts messages essentially telling me to **** off because if I won’t be in a relationship with him he wants nothing to do with me. (This is a 31 year old man acting like a child!) I can deal with the ridiculous drama; however I need to get my bike...like now. The original plan was he was going to trailer it out to me at the end of April when he was planning on visiting me in Mass but now, obviously, that’s not an option.

So I need advice, I am in Massachusetts with limited funds and even more limited time and have to figure out the most efficient way of getting my bike from Minnesota to here as soon as possible before this fellow does something he will live to regret.

Any Ideas??

No judgment here. Been in a few sticky situations myself.

I think if you're short on change and time, I'd hit up uShip.com

Throw a RFQ up there, and see what people come back with. If you're flexible on mode of transport (covered vs. uncovered, trailer vs. pickup bed, etc), you might find yourself with a few very affordable options.

Dunno what the prices are like these days but what about taking a bus there and riding it home?

Your quickest and safest bet would be to get it shipped, but that won't be free. I got mine shipped for $200 when I bought my bike. Contact the motorcycle shops in the area he is in and see if they know of any truckers doing loops towards Massachusetts.

option 1 -ship it

option 2- find a forum member in minnesota willing to store it

option 3- i might be going to minnesota soon(within the next 1-1.5 months), i could probably bring it to michigan. i have a garage to store it. could even ride it on occasion to make sure it still works. ;)

Someone has to be the devils advocate here, just fake it until he brings your bike out.

Ok since all options have been spoken. Are you a guy or girl? Just asking, no judgement.

But if anything, fact that **** till you get your Buell back.

EDIT: Just looked at your profile. Nice to see another Ginger on the site and a buell owner. Nicer to see a female red head. Hi, my name is Trea. Whats yours? :)

Im a Gal:)

I'm thinking the best option is gonna be either shipping it or recruiting someone to trailer/ride it out and paying for travel expenses because I won’t be able to get it myself do to time.

I work at a Harley dealership (hence the lack of time with everyone getting ready to ride its getting busy) so might look into the trucker/delivery routes (thanks for the suggestion wiznut)
And definitely need to check out the uShip.

Haha!! Not gonna lie that crossed my mind more than once but I have too much respect and self respect to do it...

I've shipped multiple bikes with uShip, and have always been met with success. It's important to make sure the shipper's reviews are positive, and to get the shipper on the phone to feel out their customer service.

I've used it for probably 6 bike transfers.

I would get it for you if i was in the same state and bring it to you just to meet you. /hit on

theoct has a great point tho. Call first.

Damn Loki. You sure are working for it.

Can't say I blame you. I have a fiance with fiery red hair. The gingers are the best.

I love girls with red hair. I have super red hair as well. Red heads are the best. I almost had one, but it back fired and turned out i just got stabbed and hurt pretty bad. But thats life.

You gotta try, everyone deserves a chance. The toughest thing for most everybody out there though, is giving them that chance.

Just a thought, but in the meantime.. not saying fake it, but perhaps appealing to his feelings and giving him "I know how inconvenient this must be for you and I'm not trying to hurt you .. (there were some good times)... so I'm making arrangements as quickly possible to get my bike out of your way... etc."

Even though he's acting like a child, establish a level of respect and consideration for his bruised ego and try to get him thinking more civil... Till you get your bike at least. Transition it to another kind of arrangement, even business if need be and offer him a small storage fee for his trouble.

I live half way in between you and Minnesota. I can pick it up in my trailor from Minnesota. I have a v8. If you could get to Wisconsin to pick it up I could probably help you. Do you still have my #? If not... shoot me a pm if you still need help. Sorry to here about your unfortunate situation. [sad]

XBGinger,
One never Fake, can only make them more mad at the end. If they are unstable!! Well I will not go into it anymore.
Tell him the Truth,
You just moved, lots of drama with that, you are in no mood to see anyone at this point in time.

Tell him, How would he feel if there was a chance that you guys do get back together he is going to blow it clean out of the works with being this way, instead of being a close friend far away that you can count on and trust! He has you baby is that not showing him who you trust atm. Don't let him read into it, just be short and sweet.

On getting the bike, I think the bike will be fine if he feels trusted.
But who knows, just my 2 bits /shrug.

Leaving something you love with someone who is unstable and crazy is never good. They become unpredictable and will do crazy things to "try and get your love back." Best thing to do it to calm him and get the bike out of there asap. Do you have any other friends around that can pick the bike up from his home for you?

Yeah it's not an ideal situation at all but when I realized the trailer wasnt gonna make it all the way to Mass I had to make a decision.... I have talked to him and gotten him as "calm" as possible but the only resolution in his eyes is if we are together... and I don't have the patience for all the b.s. so thats not gonna happen. He's not threatening my bike as of yet, however I worry that he will use it as leverage over me, make an attempt to sell it, trash it or worse yet ride it (he doesnt know how to ride so it would kill both him and the bike)

Im getting my bike back some way some how even if I have to pull some mission impossible tactics.

Thank you so much everyone for your help at least know where to start now
