I Polished my headers

i would except the PO put a nice little ding in my header that id rather not highlight

from what Im seeing, that little ding could just end up looking like a "highlight" if you do it right. ha

damn, those must have been some nasty assed headers.. because mine looked pretty bad when I started.

did you just use wd40 or some sort of header cleaner?

Just spray WD onto the green Scotchbrite pads and scuff away...That's it! Then some metal polish if you so chose after.

The polished look is pretty sweet. Nice job to those of you that took the time. Living in Texas I want to divert as much heat away from me as possible so I wrapped mine. I'm going to do a 2nd layer here soon and see if that makes any difference.

Annoyance, I wonder how much weight that added to his bike. That had to be heavy as ****.

wd40 and green pads didn't even put a dent in mine.. I tried and nothing happened.

I love polished header threads

Mine were pretty messed up. I used the aforementioned WD40 and green scotchbrite pads and it worked pretty well and its dirt cheap. I'll be polishing with some Megiuars metal finish too.

When he crashes, I wonder if people bet on whether he will come up heads or tails?

With the Scotchbrite method it seems I need to touch mine up ever few months. Riding in the rain seems to make the tops of the headers go blue more quickly. Polished headers sure do look snazzy though [up]
