Help Support Buellxb Forum:

The 2008 if im not mistaken is the one that doesnt have to many charging issue.

Thats why I am glad I got an 08

Wow, I remember when everyone was putting the 08's down because of the O2 location. Glad I didn't listen, very happy with my '08! [up]

I would happily buy that CR but I have one too many bikes in the garage already. If I can get rid of my ironhead I'll let you know.

Macbuell I just dont like the feeling knowing its going to leave me stranded!!!

Sad thing is they are selling for about that with a good stator. I wish I were closer, I would put it in for u for free. It's not that hard of a job with the correct tools. I'm positive if Buell were still in business Erik would not let this go on.

just heard about stator re wire from custome rewind for 130$ as opposed to buell upgrade for 1000$..apparently they use 17 guage wire to cut down on heat and some buellers seem very happy with it..I would love to get it fixed so i can try out this race ecm...
then sell this thang..i would rather sell an oprable bike than a problem to someone

Im pointing my finger at the company thats name is on the side of my bike,,the company that approved the design and sold the bike under their name and tried to profit..This is not a new problem and even when buell was still in buisness they didnt do much to help so the cost of this fix wouldnt be an arm and a leg...but i do see that eric is still makeing and selling bike, just under a new company name...pretty cruddy if you ask me

It is kind of funny because you show little to no comprehension of manufacturing process at any level and even less regard for what an end product is and isn't.

If I pop a tire in my car I do not blame Ford. Also if my alternator should happen to go bad I do not blame Ford. Nor if I take my car up to near its limits and something breaks. A tire pop from a nail? Blame the nail. A broken component? Component manufacturer (denso, bosch, et al.) and something going haywire at ludicrous speed? Your fault.

the engine is a rotax design. you can blame them. Aprillia bikes with the rotax engine have the same issue.

I have no comprehension of the manufacturing process,I just have read the posts of many many disappointed customers...I choose to keep it simple that way.I understand if you are loyal to buell, hell I was for a long time..Not anymore though..Sure i was going as you say ludicrous speeds, though isnt that what the bike is supposed to be for ,my enjoyment..Its not just an isolated indecent if it was I would take the hit,but go through the forum for years now and read the writing on the wall. The product has never been rite and you know it...

I would never claim the stator in the 1125 is right. I do also understand your frustration - I don't want you to think I'm knocking you for that. What I'm saying is that Buell Motorcycle Company is not to blame for a sourced part failure in an engine designed and built elsewhere. Blame Rotax or whoever built that stator (engines have parts from different companies too).

Could an update have been released that resolved all issues? Sure. Did they have time to do it? That could be argued but the fact is Buell Motorcycle Company does NOT exist anymore. EBR does. Different company, same guy at the top.

The bike is built to handle a great many things you throw at it - but high speeds on or in any vehicle is not its normal operating mode and you should not expect it to act normal. This is not a race-ready machine and is not sold as such.

I would, honestly, love to have the CR. I think it is one part cool and one part totally absurd (I admire that about it).

mate... if the ebr stator is close at hand and you dont have to wait long. fix it. afterall the only issues with the rotax models was that electrical. after that you have one awesome bike with plenty of power. i like the way a xb runs, hence my decision to change back.

Plenty of power my ass anything with the numbers 1125 on the side should have WAY MORE POWER!!!!!!

the bike was made to go fast, you say ludicrous speeds ,I say very fun.I dont claim to know anything about the manufacturing process. My point is this its not an isolated incident. If it was just my bike for the way I ride it I would take the hit..Its not isolated and its been going on since the 09 came out,at least thats the way it reads here,on this forum..I just wish I had read more about it before I wasted my money. That is my bad.Me personaly,I had to save like crazy for this bike and am very disapointed in it..I understand your loyalty to buell ,I was that way when I had my xb 9,thats why i bought this bike...now the whole situation has me pissed ..I personaly dont have 2 or 3 bikes I can choose from when my bike breaks down..like I said I should have gotten an r1,it would probobly still be on the road,or a stator for it would be about 150 200,,not 890 to fix the problem that the bike left the factory with,or 680 to install the same faulty part..so your analogy is rediculas,,

Agreed, the 1125 was built to go that fast, not putt around at 75. There should be no issue riding it that fast. My ZX12R does 185 and while I'll never drive it that fast I did do 165 on it just last Wednesday and have no guilt for it. I don't do it a lot but I will run my bikes fast as they were intended every now and then.

I'm with you, if I spent money on a product that was defective and it left me stranded or I couldn't use it I would blame Buell too, there's no way I would say "Oh well, it's not the Buell parts that are bad, so I can't be mad" **** that! I'd be furious at Buell too.

When we got an 08 with only 1700 miles into my dealership I thought, heck I might buy this one but after a few days on it, not a chance. The thing ran hot, cooked my right boot, fan always ran even after a mile ride, handling was not close to my 9R, seemed very sluggish. Yes it was fast, brutally fast but I wasn't comfortable at all on it.

Thats weird cause I was just thinking today when i was on my r that the transition from the xb to the r was really simple, aside from speed. Handling to me is very similar to what I was used to.
Everyone has diff experiences tho.

I am also one who agrees that companies are responsible for their designs, whether they develop it or outsource it. The end product is theirs. I'm sure Rotax or whoever else engineered that stator or the design that causes the stator problem had 'plenty of research and data' that 'proved' that issue was a small scale issue not worth adressing or they took it to market too fast without doing neccessary research and didnt realize there was an issue that would materialize to this level.

I think a large part of the problem is that because of HD's decision to dissolve Buell, legally there's not much he can do on a large scale basis to handle these issues. In fact, I'd bet the farm that HD's attorneys pretty much showed him the door and he was no longer legally able to offer the neccessary support to the Buell brand, which HD owned. That's part of being shut down by the company that owns you.

Further, even if he wanted to, he probably doesn't have the resources to do it on his own. Hence why he's selling $10k motorcycles for $45k!

We hear ya brotha! It sucks, no doubt!!

Feel your pain, read my previous posts and you perchaced a 2009,mine rocks now.Rewound stator and new VR total cost $600 love it.Next is 2 put on a set of Triumph speed triple bars, yes they fit.(If it brakes fix it).$5000 and u ship ill buy for parts.[up]
