I didn't realize how bad my back tire was until today. It's worn to the point of being unsafe. So, until I can get a new tire, I'm grounded.[sad] Hopefully, I can get it done over the weekend since it's supposed to rain anyway.

It's definitely got a different feel, but you'll get used to it quickly. I've only ridden on it once since new tire, but didn't get a chance to lean on it yet.

There's a thread that extremelow started couple years ago I believe that talks about the wider tire and fallible long of falling once you get close to the lip. It'll be interesting to see how that goes!

I like the look!

Im looks only now, no pushing it in the turns im over that.

I'm less into aggressive riding also, but I like to know ive still got it and it's always available if needed [up]

For all of u lil girls that have to plans on carving corners anymore, may i take those lovely cornering machines off ur hands.

Hey Macho Man Thaloc, check back with us after you have been riding the tires off of 'em for 40 years like yours truly.

Present!

Not saying I don't ride hard every now and again, I'm just saying every turn I make, I'm not trying to drag my face on the ground!

Where I live, there's quite a bit of straight line highway riding to get anywhere with turns. My last rear tire only gave me 3000 miles at best, so after confiding in a few forum members I decided to go with more rubber on the ground to get more out of the tire.

I hate to say it, but that 10 mm isn't going to make enough of a difference in tire life. The COMPOUND and air pressure of the tire will make the difference. What it _will_ do is screw up your cornering geometry.

If you want/need more mileage, go with a sport touring tire instead of an all out sport oriented tire. I'm leaning that way myself and am getting 7k+ miles out of the rear tire now. I commute a lot on mine rather than burn up the hills.

There's not a lot of hills where I live, or curves. (I live in South Jersey, aka flatland.) I need my tires more for distance than anything else. My other vehicle is a pickup truck. (I own horses, so have to have a truck, and it's a 21 mile round trip to take care of them everyday.) I get about 14 mpg w/the truck as compared to about 60 w/the bike. It's a no brainer as to which I take when the weather's good.

I just we had realized the tire was so bad in January. I had a operation on my knee, so wasn't riding anyway.

What it _will_ do is screw up your cornering geometry.

That's a matter of perspective. What it will do is change your cornering geometry.

Saying it will "screw it up" is like tagging something as "weird" just because it is "different".
