If possible ups or fedex your clothes to over night stops caring a load blows on a bike. Roadway inns have travel coupons allot Think it is travel guide or coupons. . Com I have stayed in both in Asheville not bad and week day price of like 30 with the coupon.
Tank bag with a good rain suite water proof boots are a huge plus

Think the bike needs any additional stuff, cooling in mind. I know its hot. Im worried about that. Heres the link to my map. These are the main stops. Minus the one at the Royal Gorge Bridge, it just looks cool, lol... but Each leg is NOT short, but Ill stop every couple hours for a stretch and some jumping jacks, lol.

I've done a little over 800 miles in a day on a Ninja, I was beat by the tie I got home. If you have the time, 500-600 miles a day would be ok and take most of the day with fuel stops, potty breaks, photo ops, etc.

If you are still going to Chicago before Ohio, I'm in Fort Wayne which is right on the way. I can pm you my number if you want and if you come through in the evening I've got a couple couches you can park on for the night.
