Hey mate, Welcome to the the forum. I say this like I'm an old hand around here but even though I've been a member for a while I honestly haven't contributed that much. **** of me I know.
Anyways, I got my license on a Suzuki DRZ 400e had a ball on it and as soon as I got my full license traded it for a 2005 firebolt. So It was my first road bike really, and haven't looked back. They really are so much fun. Some things I would recommend looking at as a new Buell owner and fellow novice rider are;
1. Download and print out or purchase the workshop manual. It's well laid out and explains everything you need to know... basically your Bible.
2. Stator and regulator. Get a multi-meter and check these suckers are making and sending the right voltage/ampage. i had a faulty regulator and fried two stators and batteries before diagnosing this. Get yourself a trickle charger too as they take a bit of starting especially in the colder months!
3. Kickstand Mod. I think as an 07 model yours is all good but my 05 had to get this upgrade which was simple and made a huge difference.

4. Bearings. The short wheelbase and grunt these things have make them a wheelie/stoppie weapon. The previous owner may have had the same idea too so check out both wheel bearings and headstock bearings too. These guys have some pretty neat high performance ones available and tapered bearings for your steering bearings.

Other things I've played around with are aftermarket lowered footpegs because I'm pretty lanky and bought the Buell 1" dropper pegs and snapped them off... twice. These are nice because you can play around with them and get them exactly where you want.

I also installed a 12v plug into the storage area under the pillion seat which involved a lot of f**king around and I'm still not too happy with the design. I've seen some pretty neat usb power installations on here though if you have a browse.
I also have the race ecm and exhaust which sounds awesome and seems to give it a fair bit of power when you're up in the rev range (compared to my friends identical stock exhaust butterfly valve setup when racing each other.)
Changing the oil regularly and checking and cleaning your plugs is rewarding too as they run pretty rich naturally and like to blacken them.
It's a great bike and with a little bit of love will give you a heap of fun in return. These bikes eat up winding roads and **** out smiles!
Good luck with it all mate and enjoy.
