Not to say I told you so... but now I SERIOUSLY doubt that your o2 sensor is bad.
To me it seems like your plug wasn't creating combustion 100% of the time, therefore you're running rich. So rich that your o2 sensor was probably throwing voltage levels that are off the chart, making the ecm think the o2 sensor was bad.
This crap happens to cars all the time, and people go dropping $120 on a new o2 sensor to find out that they still have the problem and are now $120 poor-er
