Got pulled over a while back for loud muffler...told the cop it was bulshit...ended up with an illegal right turn, loud muffler and obstruction of view in my Explorer. I have yet to get pulled over on a motorcycle.

i didn't realize how many people ran from the cops and have positive stories to tell later. I don't think i would have the balls to try it..

Yeah I agree....what the hell's wrong with you guys? Driving that fast is reckless first of all, and then run from the cops on top of that? I'd bet money more than half the posts in this thread are BS.

Im sure they werent seeking your approval.. I appreciate your opinion though. I agree, it was reckless and irresponsible, but I understood the consequences and considered most the plausable outcomes.

I didn't mean it as a put down at all...i was kind of impressed. Yes, reckless, but baller all the same. you only live once [smirk]

So there I was doing 155mph in my stock 12R, racing a Triumph and whooping his ass a 1/2 mile in, when a State Trooper on a Harley comes flying up on us. As we passed under the the next overpass I hit the hover mode switch(okay so the bike isn't completely stock), pulled hard back, and looped up onto the overpass and parked. Watched the Triumph get pulled over.

^True story bro

Zach, once you get your bike, and get comfortable on it, come out riding with us in St Cloud. This happens locally alot more than you would think :)

One more reason why I love this forum! You guys rock...

I haven't been pulled over yet on the bike, but I get plenty of hassle in the Subaru.

And to clarify, I don't think anyone was really running from the cops, just trying to remain invisible until the heat dies down :D

I'd do it!

I wouldn't even think of running from the cops. I can't even get up past 105 before my helmet starts shaking too much from the wind. Is there some peaceful zen zone somewhere above that? Helmet is a Scorpion EXO-something.

If you want to endanger yourself that's fine, no need to endanger other people's lives...

I was being sarcastic. Not something I would actually do, i have too much to live for. but it sounds like a thrill for sure.

Get a helmet that fits right. A proper fitting helmet will not do this.

First thing you can do is if the top brow fits nice and snug without hurting, then just buy bigger check pads.

To by bigger check pads you have to buy smaller ones. Meaning if you have a large helmet you have large cheek pads. Buy xl pads would make the helmet even looser.
So you have to buy med cheek pads or small pads, they will be thicker.

Well I'm all for having fun, and I speed, and I ride and drive my cars aggressively(I am much better in a car than on a bike as I have a lot more experience in a car), and I goof off and race on the street. Just do it in a safe manner, I hate hearing when somebody was street racing, or whatever, and hit a car and killed a mom and two kids or something like that. When I fool around on the street I make sure I'm not near an intersection, traffic, side streets, etc...and when I have someone on my bike or in my car, I don't do anything crazy as you never know when you will lose control...goes back to if I hurt myself oh well I had it coming and can live with the consequences(or not live with them....) but I don't want to hurt anyone else. I had a friend in high school with a z28 and he burnt out through a turn in an intersection and lost control and ended up on the opposite side of the median and a minivan t-boned him and luckily he lived, and even more luckily the mom in the van lived. Have fun just please be safe... (end of lecture lol...I sound like an old man)

I have a Scorpion EXO-400 and going past 105 isn't an issue....when you have a helmet that fits correctly.

I also have a Scorpion EXO-400 and I have no problem doing 130. I would agree that you need a proper fitting helmet. My helmet is very snug but not uncomfortable.

Ok I got a good cop story from 1992. I was in the Army stationed at Ft. Campbell and I had this Ninja ZX600 all modded out. I learned alot on that bike because that primitive Norton featherbed type frame and that nasty suspension didnt protect you from anything so you had to learn things the hard way...anyway. I was going about 80mph in a 65 and I saw a cop sneaking up behind me and I was sick of paying the tickets so I just fucking gunned it..I must have been going 120 or so for what seemed to be forever..I was watching the terrain and I noticed that the highway was raised up and had slopes going going down on either side, a turn was coming up and the cop was out of site so I slammed my brakes as hard as I could, took it down to about 25 and rode right off the road, down the slope, and almost into the drainage ditch, stopped it and layed it over on its side and I layed down with it..commando style and waited for about 15min..the cop past right by without seeing me..I bet it looked like Scotty had just beamed me up. ha ha I bet he was like "damn that dude just vanished" I eventually got the bike out of there and doubled back the way I came.. it was a close one.
