Limited Edition Buells

Hi everyone,

How many Buell Limited Edition series do you know?
Pics would be appreciated.

Once watching some german bike sale website I saw this 2003 XB9 R Firebolt for sale (just watching not buying [smirk]).
Has anyone of you saw this LIMITED EDITION before and could this be true. Perhaps the customer just wanted to add some value to his custom painted bike and called it Limited Edition with adding some "plate" to the frame .

BTW the sticker on the front fairing doesn't particularly look like Buell made. Looks too simple.

Never heard of it so far. Doesn't mean it's not real, but I feel by now someone on here would have had one.

As far as I know they didn't make any limited edition XB's. That could be some thing the dealer did to jack up the price. I also don't think Buell offered red as a color choice in '03. You could only get white and blue in the firebolts that year.

I accidently did it upside down when I first got the bike. After I filled up, I put it on there like that thinking I was going to have to screw it on like a regular gascap(forgetting that I didn't have to unscrew it). Then it just stayed upside down for a while.

from reading the forums, there were definitely limited edition models.

there were black w/ gold racing stripes too that i have seen here or on bad web.

the plastics go for a premium

The racing stripes special plastics are available in the dealer issued buell accessories catalog, with a pretty premium price.

Edit: no idea if a special edition exists, just special plastics that could be bought

I dunno. I've been around for a while and I've never heard of any besides that "Blade trinity" promo bike.

I do remember Buell having stripe decal kits with bomber looking stuff and american flags. It was all ugly as sin.

Yeah, looks like a fake. There were no red plastics or dark smoke windscreens in 2003.

Also, the red with racing stripes was a X1 special edition.

dave is right there were no special or limited editions made. What was made were the stripe and decal kits that were sold for 129 dollars. some dealers did their own customizing to boost sales but that I can assure you is not a limited edition

It is not so critical. I am not going to buy this bike. Just wanted to share with you what I have seen and asked you if it could be true LIMITED EDITION BUELL or the owner had a rich fantasy .
I guess there is no need to disturb Mr. Erik Buell upon thiss minor issue.

I also thought that somebody could share some true Buell XB limited Edition bikes sure if there were made some.
I saw a couple of pics with stripes (of different width) on plastics which David_XB12R and Hammer told about. Perhaps somebody has one?

So far searching into the web I found that there were no Buell XB Limited (Special) Edition made except from 25th anniversary signature edition
