I went to ride my XB12Scg to work this morning. I got on it, turned the key (very strong fuel pump prime and bright lights, the newer battery was just taken off the charger last night as well) and then hit the start button. All the sudden I lost all power to everything, no lights, no sounds, no nothing! I was in a hurry and didn't get a chance to check very many things but I did check the fuses and they all looked fine. Any idea what I should check when I get home tonight? Relay maybe? Any help would be great.

Sounds like a lose ground or lose battery cable. Happened to mine a few weeks ago. If the battery is still good I would check there and then check your fuses

The cables are secure and the battery is good. I guess it could be a lose ground. It was just strange, full power then nothing at all...

Would the starter switch cause me to lose all power? I am not getting anything at all, no lights, no nothing...

The way you described it seems to be the catalyst...start by taking it apart, cleaning, check connections and put it back together.
Fuses and relays??

I only had a second to check the fuses this morning and they all looked good. I don't know about the relays.

I am thinking it could be the ignition switch itself. Can somebody explain to me how to hotwire this SOB so I can just bypass the switch and get it started?

the newer battery was just taken off the charger last night as well
newer? Have you had it checked? Why was it on a charger? The manual says to unhook the battery from bike (neg first) before charging. Did you charge it while it was hooked to the bike? Lots of new vehicles will not run correctly or at all unless the battery is up to standards.

could of damaged it when u installed the new battery
His battery isn't new but he could have fried something hooking up that charger.
If I were him I'd have that battery checked out first.

I called it a "charger" but it is actually a battery tender jr not an actual charger. It had a flashing green light when I pulled it off and when I tested it with a mulimeter was getting 11.5 volts so it is not the battery itself. The main battery fuse in the fuse box looks good and also tested good with the multimeter. I disconnected the ignition switch and jumped 2 of the connections leading to the battery and got the guages to jump and the ignition switch relay to click but that was the extent of where I got last night. I just need some instructions on how to hot wire it to see if I can get power. If I am able to do that it seems the ignition switch is bad...
