I have the need to be on high beam all the time because the low beam headlight is too dim,Is this normal or I have a electrical problem or a bad low beam light .Please help.I have a firebolt xb12r.

Its probably not that its dim, its got an eyelid in it blocking the upper half of the beam. Drive with your brights on. You can see and at least they can see you.

The low beam reflector gets too hot and melts the chrome reflective part of the housing. I bought a used 2005 12R and had the same problem. I replaced the low beam housing and the problem is solved. The housing is about $55 from HD.

I removed the metal "reflector" from my lowbeam to hopefully stop the burning getting a hid soon as well

Have any of you fine gentlemen installed HID on a firebolt before? How difficult is it? That's something I would definately be interested in.

hardest part is finding a place to put the ballast depending on what kit you get as there are several kits available.

Go to Ironhorse and buy a second high beam. Thats what I did then put in Silverstar bulbs...good to go and much less than HIDS and not problems having to mount HID parts which space is seriously limited.

No problem...After you put it in and it just takes like 15 minutes or so just readjust the angle a little and thats it.
