luv my new buell !!!

Hello all,
Im still new to the forum and new to buells
Saturday i purchased my 1st buell. A 06 xb9r. This bike is AWSOME !!!! Never rode anything like it. Always wanted 1 since they 1st come out. Always rode jap sportbikes. This thing is soooo different! !! Love all the vibration and shakin and that buetifull harley sound. I understand now !!!! What i like most is the look of confusion on peoples faces. They see sportbike but hear harley sound and are like wtf !!!! What the hell is that. I say its harleys version of a sportbike. Is there any other way of describing it ??? let me know. Until then. Many more smiles on my face and hopefully yours !!!!

"Harley's version of a sport bike" doesn't give credit where credit is due. In fact, it gives credit to a company who absolutely doesn't deserve any.

I typically take a few minutes to tell people that Eric Buell was once an engineer who worked for Harley Davidson who designed his own frames and components and reengineered Harley and Rotax motors for better performance and to fit into the chassis. Then point out things like Mass centralization, the ZTL brake rotor, fuel in the frame, oil in the swingarm, etc. I give Eric all the credit. Most people enjoy hearing how Buells came to be.

I agree with you alien. I always explain how the buells came to be. But i also state to some who just dont get it,after explaining all that ,thats its harleys version of a sportbike. Then they get it. I know its not. It has nothing to do with harley. Harley didnt builld them. Erik buell did. But sometimes people just dont get it so its easier to just say its harleys version of a sportbike. I know i know. Chastise me all you want. Its all good
