Hey guys im new to the buell scene and looking for a xb9s, or xb9sx

There are a couple around here for sale.

"a 2003 XB9S with 15,000 miles on it. The bike is an air cooled 984cc V-Twin with a 5spd gearbox. This bike has a custom undertail, newer belt, new Michelin Pilot 2CT tires along with a new front rotor and brake pads. The bike has a custom muffler on it at the moment, and the stock tail and muffler come with it. I also have a few other parts I may be willing to throw in. I am selling the bike because I have bought a new bike. The price is $4,000 obo. for this V-Twin power in a sport bike frame no trades please"

i have a small budget, and just sold my current bike (05 sv650s)

Also ive been trying to research and find out if im to big for the bike. im 6'2ish over 250lbs not fat fat just built bigger than most [up]

Any help would be great, what should i ask this guy or even whats a good price for that bike

those miles are no issue at all, but IMO you can find an '03 with that many miles for a bit cheaper if you shop around. one just went (or will in a day or so) for $3,500 with 3,540 miles on it with more upgrades. granted that bike was virtually given away but you get the point.

I'm just shy of 250 on my '03XB9 and have zero issues but I am also not as tall as you

why does it have a "newer belt" i thought the belts on these things lasted a lot longer then 15k miles. also if you fit fine on a SV you should be fine on the firebolt. i'm just a little shorter than you and about 40lbs lighter but i have no problems.

You should be able to talk him down. I got mine in March for $3400 with less miles.

As long as you maintain the bike, do your preventive maintenance the miles are no big deal.

the belts on the '03 bikes were narrower and had smaller teeth, they were more prone to braking.

so newer belt may mean that it was upgraded to '04 and newer style belt drive, or that it was replaced due to damage or just preventative maintenance.

Alright cool, thanks for all the input, i will have to go check it out.

Im gunna be around this site more and more. ill post pics once i get another bike :)

I had a 03' firebolt with well over 30K miles on it.... as long as you change the fluids and perform scheduled maintenance, they should be fine until well after that even.

I am 6'5" 270 and had no problems on my 9R... the 9s is a little shorter, or at least it looks that way (dont know exact measurements) Only way to know for sure is to go check it out and see if it fits.
