Tail lift looks good but I don't think it would be too comfortable for my wife. Not sure if I will have issues in Mass if I remove all the reflectors? Your bike looks great. Thanks for sharing and giving me ideas.

Yeah the seat doesn't look like there is much room but my wife is only 5ft 105 soaking wet. Haha...

@818guy - What kind of mirrors do you have? Do they shake and make everything blurry like the stock mirrors? Do they give you a better view?

The stock Mickey Mouse mirrors suck. I got the bar end adapters from American Sport Bike and put some 3" bar end mirrors on. Rizoma also makes nice mirrors.

Its the reason why I need new mirrors. Don't have a large budget for them right now since I just dropped all my cash on the bike, helmet, and jacket. I like the oberons but those might have to wait until the end of summer. If there is something cheaper that works better than, I am all "mickey mouse" ears.

Currently running the Rizoma version of these and love em. Considering these are a fraction of the price i paid, i consider it a good deal.

My kinda mirrors ...

Those square ones actually look purty kewl ... Different for sure ... But I don't think they'd look that good on my R ... I opted for the circular ones above and they're not bad at all ... don't vibrate that much either ... just be sure to mount em pretty solid ... they're not the greatest quality as far as materials go, but they do the job and don't look half bad ...

Also ... That's a very nice bike !! ... and good buy on the Arai helmet ... I've had a couple and they are the highest quality helmet I've ever shoved my noggin in for sure ... feels like you're wearing a damn pillow !! ...

How does you get the plastic ends to pop out from the handle bars? I was looking at them yesterday and there is no bolt holding them in.

Thanks, I would say I am lucky to get such a beauty for my first bke. I put on my brothers Arai and I didnt like anything else.

I just recently also purchased a 2009 XB 12SCG Cherry Bomb with really low miles. Was on your same boat and removed bar ends. As they've stated......left side was a PITA, tried vice grips then had to resort to drilling in small hole dead center then start cutting and pulling away with vice/pliers. Finally had to dremmel out left over glue. Right side was much easier with vice grip method only.

"search" tool on homepage works for me to zero in on a lot of good info.

Upgrading becomes addicting, next up for me is:
Exhaust, pulley cover, frame sliders, spool sliders, right side scoop, etc..........make the madness stop.....

I did do a search but I guess I didn't use the correct key words. I will try and rip them out when I get new mirrors.

How many mile can I get after the fuel light comes on? 2009 Scg has a 3.7 gallon tank? Looked through the manual and I could not find this info.

That depends a lot on how you're riding but I think 120-150 miles would be my guess. However, when the light comes on I've been reading people don't push it more than 25-40 miles. I've read how people have run out of gas with only going 25 miles once the light came on.

The last time I filled up, it took 2.45 gallons and this was after 3 miles of riding after the light came on. Should I be able to pump more gas. Anyone lifting the pump to get more in?
