ok dumb/vague question, however i am new to the buells, been riding a lot of ducati's but found a steal on a xb12. have been reading a lot about the ecm exhuast switch and am looking to do it very very soon. however i like the pipe that splits out to exit on both sides of the bike. meaning one pipe two exits in front of the rear tire. like the one in this video. anybody know of anything good???

I don't know what is in the video... However I would recommend the Hawk exhaust if you search it you will find many people that are VERY happy with their Hawk pipe. Good price, great product and great guy to deal with. Just my opinion. I know a lot of people really like the drummer too. Sorry I can't help with the pipe in the video.

That exhaust is the micron serpent full system. It has the hydroformed headers. It is no longer in production and used ones sell for allot. Very hard to find.

why's it no longer produced? thats the best looking exhaust ive probably ever seen

I would recommend Hawk, drummers I think are nice but way overpriced for the work thats done to a stock muffler body. The jardines have a good sound to them if you want something loud but I've heard and seen them fall apart. You could try to find a buell race can but expect to pay a pretty decent chunk of change for one as they are no longer made as well but I have seen them on here for sale. GB I hear has a pretty good pipe as well. I have a hawk on my bike and couldn't be happier. Randy is a great guy and will work with you and his pipes are of good quality.

Seems like all the exhausts are overpriced, except the Hawk muffler, it sounds great, and if all you want is the extended tips i assume you could weld on a set of tips once Randy works his magic.

ok after doing a lot more research i am going to go ahead and go with the hawk, k&n, open aibox, and ecm to get me going with the new ride. but i also have another newb question, what is the "cheese grater" mod that people have been referring to that randy at hawk performance will also do free of charge?

Randy will work with you to customize the tip(s) if you want something unique. He did a single 3.25" stainless tip for me by request. Here it is...

Cheese grater is the license plate holder/rear fender on the bike. He will take it off very clean like and then you only have to either make/purchase a integrated tail light or drill and bolt on blinkers. Also you have to mount the license plate somewhere else. Gives the back of the bike a good look [up]
