I've read several other topics on this forum about which kits to buy and from where, but I'm a different case compared to most people who buy these kits. I suffer from Photophobia, I got it after having eye surgery and now it requires me to wear sunglasses at all times, even at night.

So my question is which kit should I get? Someone on a similar topic posted this link:
http://www.ddmtuning.com/product.php?II=101

Now the thing is I need high and low beams, lows for city driving and highs for highway driving.

So far I've come to the conclusion that I need 55watt, H7, and 5000K. Too much color may make things difficult to differentiate while driving. Does that sound right? I'm not even sure if that includes highs and lows.

Any input would help, now I also keep hearing about having to modify the headlamp assy. on the CR. Any confirmation on that?

I would get a 55W kit (because it's 40% brighter than a 35W kit) in the 4500K color ... that is the brightest possible ... 4300 is the color manufacturers use for their OEM headlights. You could also purchase a yellow set (3000K) of bulbs to try out as well. The bulbs will swap out quickly.

A kit like that you linked to covers the high and low beam ... in the CR, the shape of the reflector affects the beam pattern, not the actual bulb itself. If you swap both bulbs out (like I did) it will be the brightest you can make it. But also remember that the high beam will take about 5-10 seconds depending on the ambient temperature to reach full brightness.

The only think you have to modify is the high beam bulb holder, and you can do it with a rat tail file or Dremel tool. You just have to remove a little bit of plastic material so you can fit it around the new HID bulb, that's all.

If you have any more problems or questions just post up here.

Ok, so should I but that kit that I posted in the link then? I found that link because someone from this forum posted it in another topic. They said that its the slim ballast.

I'm kinda having trouble grasping what it is that I actually need to purchase. I've not dealt with any HID kit before. I apologize for my ignorance...

If you could post a link to which kit I need to purchase that would be greatly appreciated.

I would only get 35 watt kits thats what the stock bulbs are wireds for no relay stuff to deal with.
Hid's are 10 times brighter than a holagen ever dreamed of being.
Same with the color i run 10k's in my R just 35 watt low beams and there brighter than hell.
Never did a cr so can't comment on those i am guessing it has a low single and high single bulb?
Both on high's?
if so just get a car kit for whatever bulbs in it.

BTW just got ddm hid kits today.
The new ballast's are big and pretty heavy...

This is the HID kit you want for your CR:

http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DDM-HID-Kit-Slim-Ballast-35W-or-55W

With the following options selected:
• Wattage: 55W (+$10.00)
• Bulb Type: H7
• Bulb Color: 4500K
• HID Harness: -None-
• Error Eliminator: -None-
• Adapter cables: -None-

You NEED the slim ballast kit for both ballasts to fit nicely under the flyscreen of the CR with enough room for the rest of the cables/wires that go through that area. The regular sized ballasts may work, but with my slim ballasts under there I'd be hard-pressed to fit anything larger, especially if there's two of them.

If you need any help getting the wiring together, hit me up. Normally I'd suggest two 30A relays to take the load off of the stock headlight switch, but testing with my Fluke it's really not a damaging load on it ... you can just plug and play with the stock bulb connectors and you'll be fine. I've been running 55W HIDs since the week after I got it back in December 2009.

To JeepinBueller, thank you for the info. I ordered it, but God knows when I'll get it.

Thanks everyone else for your help...

Yeah it seems like they're backed up a little bit. They've been a great company to order from, and I've gotten five kits from them so far. Had one faulty bulb, and they replaced it promptly ... plus they're based in CA, so if you call for customer support they speak English and know what they're talking about, unlike most of the other companies with HID kits.
