Neighbors I have yet to meet, daughter walks across my yard with her wagon in tow. Minute later the dad is walking by to get her as I'm getting ready to take off, double take at my bike "is that the ******* front brake???"

Those moments with my XB crack me up.

Sales guy at our local EBR dealer (before it was an EBR dealer) "I don't see how that brake can be effective, its not even a floater!"

This is all while he's grabbing the front brake and shaking it violently on a used 1125R they had in the showroom. All he did is complain about how awful of a bike it was and how the front brake would screw up his transitions on the track. He started getting into the "I don't know what kind of person would ever buy one of these" spiel when I said, "I have one" and started shutting him down with facts.

I don't think this guy was being a dink, just more amazed to see it.... First time my brother saw my cherry bomb, "dude, that think looks like a pissed off ant, like real pissed!"... No more lolly pop mirrors for me

I get a lot of the "Are those plastics See through!?!?" and then followed up with the "well where's your gas tank then?"

Just ordered a new metal mulisha handlebar pad on account that 7 people so far this spring have asked where they can rent a bike like mine. Apparently they keep misreading my current RENTHAL pad.....

I get lot's of "Is that a Ducati?" around here at the gas pumps and such ... went to a car/bike show yesterday and was pleased to run across a few people who actually knew about buells ... Of course my favorite has to be:

"Is that a Ducati bike?"

"No ... it's a Buell *points to airbox*"

"Oh ... who makes that?"

"Buell?..."

"Is that like a division of Honda or something?"

"Uh no ... "

I love the oh what kind of bike is that "point to air box" who makes that? Umm buell.... Lol happens to me all the time

I think that's part of the reason we all love these bikes. Some people have no idea what they are and I like it that way.

I get the Ducati question all the time. My favorite is after a ride walking away as the fan is running and someone stops me to tell me I left my bike running.

I'll always own an xb. Funnest and most innovative bike I've ever ridden.

I had a Tuber owner ask me on the weekend if I knew "what the **** was Erik Buell thinking when he came up with the XB!?". I didn't acknowledge the question with a response...

Shutoff bike and fan kicks on...

"Hey, what the **** is that?"

"The fan."

"What's it doing?"

"...preparing for takeoff."

I got "that bike looks like it was beat to hell" at Sturgis.

So I said "well, thank you. I do my best."

They guy then asked why I abused it and I had to explain that it had been stolen and I just got it back 2 months before.
